Companions and Sir Knights - Hope all of you are doing well. I want to remind you that we have our October stated meeting coming up this Thursday the 17th with dinner at 6:15 and the meeting at 7. We will be opening in Chapter form.. (Red coat night!)
This coming Sunday the 20th, Sir Knights will be assembling at the McCordsville United Methodist Church for a go to church Sunday. McCordsville is located at 6247 W Broadway (US 67/Pendleton Pike) in the middle of McCordsville. If you wish to attend, please be at the church by no later than 9:15 am. The service starts at 9:30. We will be in Commandery uniforms with the exceptions of chapeaus and swords per Commander Elder. We will march in together and I will have a row reserved for us. The service lasts a little over an hour. If the Lord's prayer is done, it is done in Methodist style with trespassers and not debtors as we know. It would be excellent if we had about 10 Sir Knights present. If you do not have a uniform, a dark suit is acceptable.
Saturday the 26th, some of our Sir Knights will be assisting R***r Commandery in their reception with the forming of the lines. At that meeting, all Sir Knights that are active or retired members of the drill teams of R***r and Greenfield, will be presented with the new approved shoulder cords. These cords will show the rest of the state the Sir Knights who put in a lot of time practicing and either demonstrating or competing with other teams in the state or nationally. The members also assist commanderies with forming lines for receptions and flag presentations. That reception starts at 10:00 am at the Keystone Masonic Lodge located at 7200 N Shadeland on the northeast side of Indianapolis. It would be great to come out and support your Sir Knights from Greenfield.
The Order of Malta will be conferred on Thursday November 14 with dinner at 6:15 and the Order at 7 which includes an inspection by Grand Commandery.. We may have more than 1 candidate with the possibility of a couple of other commanderies bringing their candidates.
Please mark these dates on your calendars and I will keep you posted on other upcoming events. Greenfield is a busy York Rite.
Fraternally yours,
Brian D. Hooten Sec/Rec,
