Jazz Unlimited of Greater Milwaukee We have promoted Jazz in the Milwaukee area since 1971

Jazz Unlimited is a non-profit organization run by member volunteers, with the vast majority of its budget going to support its musical promotion activities and scholarship award program.

For our October 25th monthly jam, we look forward to a fantastic opening set by our very own Joe Turano! Joe will be backed up by James Sodke on piano, Hal Miller on bass and Joe Zarcone on drums. Jammers, come and sign up early as the open jam will start at 2 pm. As usual, the jam happens at Mezcalero Restaurant, 69th and Forest Home. Great food, parking and ambiance! $10 Donation at the door goes towards the Jazz Unlimited Youth Scholarship Fund this upcoming March and Other possible JU Events

What a summer it's been for Jazz Unlimited. To close out the summer along with our monthly open jam at Mezcalero Restaurant we also had recent pop up events featuring local groups and most importantly our youth scholarship winners. A huge thank you goes out to MKE Jazz.Live for helping promote us and what we do and a big shout-out goes toward The Vine, Vendetta Coffee, Kegels Inn/Gil Jazz, and The Bay Street Collective for letting us do these pop up events and giving these young scholarship winners a chance to play out in public. Also a thank you goes out to Mezcalero Restaurant for continuing to let us host our open jams. A big thank you goes out to all you for coming out to our events and supporting the future of jazz. We cannot wait to start prepping for next years Youth Scholarship Competition this upcoming March. We have a lot of events we are planning for the rest of the year and hoping to have more pop up events for our future scholarship winners for next summer. Be sure to come to our future events for the rest of the year.

For our September 27th monthly jam, we are excited to welcome guitarist Joe Beach! Joe will be backed up by Joe Turano on sax, Hal Miller on bass and Joe Zarcone on drums. Jeff Stoll

There are so many great things happening in the world of Jazz, Jazz in Milwaukee and Jazz Unlimited!

Tomorrow night our Jazz Unlimited Presents – A Showcase of Emerging Artists Series continues with another stellar show at the Vine Humboldt B**r Garden. Show starts at 6:00 p.m. at 3000 S. Howell Ave. (Vine is located at the pavilion near the park bandshell). This is also the debut of The Bay Street Collective, Bailey Strasser’s new combo, featuring Bailey, Joe Beach, Jacob Bartelme and Scholarship winner Noah Newman! Other scholarship participants are invited to join in! Free admission.

On Friday, September 11th, the Showcase moves to Vendetta Coffee Bar, 524 S. 2nd St., with a performance by the Aristotle Trio, featuring Scholarship participants Lilly Talbot, Adrian McCants, and Noah Newman! Music starts at 8:00 p.m. Free admission.

On Saturday, September 19th, the Showcase returns to Kegel’s Inn, 5901 W. National Ave., and their Jazz After Hours show featuring Joel Lehman’s GIL Jazz Combo. For this performance GIL Jazz welcomes Scholarship participant Colton Klingenmeyer! Check Kegel’s website for ticket information.

A huge thank you goes out to all who attended our recent pop up events this past weekend for the start of our emerging jazz artists series. A huge thank you goes out to Colton Klingenmeyer - piano, Oliver Pape, Ben Morris, Henrik Sagmoen & Malik Smith for entertaining people at The Vine this past friday. Also a huge thank you goes out to Joel Lehman & The GIL Jazz Combo & Lilly Talbot for an amazing Saturday night as well at Kegel's Inn. Be sure to check out the Gil Jazz Combo at Kegel's Inn every 3rd Saturday from 9-11pm. Every month they feature somebody new. Be sure to check out our future events coming soon. First we have our monthly Open Jam this Sunday at Mezcalero Restaurant from 1-4pm. Then we have the debut of Bailey Strasser new group The Bay Street Collective on Friday, August 28th at The Vine. Then Lilly Talbot will be playing with her Aristotle Trio at Vendetta Coffee on Friday, September 11th from 8-10pm. We hope you are able to attend.
