After the Cory Cross Foundation was shown some love on Valentine’s Day, it occurred to me that I have failed at publicly recognizing the contributions of SO many that have supported us in recent months.
On Wednesday, CCF received a donation from the Hancock County Division of MIBOR. I would like to extend a HUGE thank you to Donette Parker Looper and the Executive Committee for selecting CCF as a worthy local organization that aligns with their mission and cause...and for allowing me the opportunity to share a little bit about who we are and what we do!
The Eastern Hancock Boys basketball team had another successful year of the Players Assisting in Selfless Service (PASS) program. The PASS program was created as a way for the players to give back to organizations in the community by finding local businesses to sponsor a non-profit organization...several of which are later recognized at a home game while also being presented with the donation. THANK YOU to Strike Force Lanes and Big Doug’s Seasoning for sponsoring CCF and to Eastern Hancock for instilling leadership and competitive greatness in these young men, while also allowing them to serve and bless others.
As part of their Christmas Party Gift Exchange, employees at Dave's Express Care Carwash & Grill and Valvoline Express Care purchase tickets to win prizes. The total raised is matched by the company and donated to a local charity. This year, the employees chose to gift CCF with their generosity. Many thanks to Leslie Torcasio Frady for not only presenting CCF as a charity of choice and telling our story...but also for your friendship and continuous support over the years.

Regardless of attendance or profit, every “CCF” donation or fundraiser over the past two decades has been an incredible display of unwavering generosity and kindness. The foundation was inspired by the family, friends and even strangers that provided every possible pillar of support to Cory and our family during his courageous 4 ½ year battle. That type of selfless support has continued to fuel the fire that keeps not only CCF, but also Cory’s memory burning so brightly.
