Beginning Sept. 28, the Community Foundation of Hancock County will accept applications for the Martha Beckenholdt Youth Philanthropy Award. Named for longtime philanthropist Martha Beckenholdt, the award honors a Hancock County high school junior for outstanding community service and philanthropy. The recipient will direct a $1,000 Community Foundation donation to a Hancock County nonprofit of their choice.

Applicants must be Hancock County high school juniors with a recommendation from a high school staff member or nonprofit organization leader located in Hancock County. Applications must be complete and submitted online by 4 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 30.

Please encourage young volunteers who may be eligible to apply!

🎉CONGRATULATIONS 2027 Lilly Finalists!!!

The Community Foundation has the privilege of administering the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship (LECSP) in Hancock County.

The primary purposes of the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship Program are 1) to help raise the level of educational attainment in Indiana; 2) to increase awareness of the roles foundations play in their communities; and 3) to encourage and support the efforts of current and past Lilly Endowment Community Scholars to engage with each other as educational, nonprofit, and civic leaders to improve the quality of life in Indiana generally and in local communities throughout the state.
