Meals on Wheels of Hancock County

Meals on Wheels of Hancock County is a nonprofit medically tailored meal delivery program in Indiana. Weekend meals delivered Fridays. mealsonwheelsonline.org

Serving Hancock County residents who wish to remain in their homes and communities yet need help with daily meal prep. We prevent food insecurity and provide peace of mind with daily check-ins. Meals delivered Mon through Fri, with the exception of major holidays. Available short-term (10 days min) or long-term. Option of 2 to 5 days per week. No age limit or income restrictions.

Twenty-five years in, and still driving toward more. 🚗💛 We just returned from the Meals on Wheels

America Conference full of fresh ideas, new connections, and renewed energy and we’re bringing every bit of it home to the neighbors we serve here in Hancock County.

Look at what we did together this July! 🎉 Our volunteers delivered 2,552 meals 🍽️ to neighbors across Hancock County 2,552 moments of warmth, nourishment, and connection at the door. Behind every number is a person: someone who looks forward to a friendly knock and the reminder that they haven’t been forgotten. What a wonderful surprise! 💛 The team at Leo's Market & Eatery – Central Kitchen chose to personally donate to Meals on Wheels of Hancock County — and Leo's matched their generosity. Getting to meet this big-hearted crew truly made our week.

There's a beautiful story behind it, too. the Corporate Executive Chef, has a terrific team that made us feel like family. Rod learned to cook with his grandmother while she was preparing meals in connection with Meals on Wheels in Indianapolis. Sometimes the small things truly set us on the path to our future. And it doesn't take much to uncover and reveal meaningful connections!"

SOME PEOPLE DON’T JUST LIVE IN A COMMUNITY. THEY HELP BUILD IT. ❤️

Today, we’re proud to shine a light on Condra, a familiar face and a powerful force for good throughout Hancock County.

Heather serves our community as the Executive Director of Greenfield Main Street , helping bring people, businesses, and opportunities together in the heart of Greenfield. And somehow, she still makes time to volunteer with Meals on Wheels of Hancock County.
In this video, Heather talks about the part of volunteering that means the most to her. The connection with clients who may not get to see or speak with someone every day.

THANK YOU doesn’t feel big enough! 💛 We’re overflowing with gratitude to the White Family Foundation for a $6,000 grant to support our Low-Income Food Service Delivery warm meals for the neighbors who need them most. 🙏 This gift comes to us through the White Family Foundation Fund, a component fund of the Community Foundation of Hancock County.
Here’s why it matters so much: 83% of our clients are on a limited income and need financial assistance. 30% of our clients live at 100% of the Federal Poverty Level and do not have the financial resources to consistently purchase groceries or maintain a healthy diet. A grant like this one turns directly into nourishing meals and friendly visits for those very neighbors. 🌟

The Community Foundation of Hancock County is a nonprofit, public charity that encourages philanthropy, convenes and leads community initiatives, provides educational support, and supports nonprofit organizations — and we’re so proud to partner with CFHC to keep our community fed and cared for. ✨
