Thanks to considerable help from Dr. Anna LaChance and her students from UMass Amherst, we finally got our injection molder working! We're working towards putting on demos and interaction days for multiple closed loop recycling methods for consumer plastics. We've got work to do yet, but this is great progress. The pictured part is made of new polyproylene plastic (labeled "5" in your recycling bin), since we're still learning; but soon we'll be able to make the exact same part (and many other things) from stuff out of your blue bin 😀.

Making doesn't always have to involve saws, screwdrivers, and 3D printers - sometimes it can be a nice meditative session of brush and canvas. Join us for a fun evening of painting instruction and leave the world worries behind for a few hours. Made our first strip from a OET bottle…. Soon we will be using these to create filament for our 3D printers

We 3D printed this mold for this flower pot in four parts out of ABS filament. Then we cast the pot in Quikrete! Next step is to paint the bottom.

Join us for an Open HIVE during Greenfield Art Walk. Hang out with us as we work on projects, show off our tools, and answer your questions about our community workshop. Held at 5pm on July 26th!

Downstairs, we’ll be holding our monthly handicraft social, so feel free to bring a craft project you’re working on.

One goal for printing parts that work is dimensional accuracy. We’re hoping to start some calibration tests on our printers at this weeks Club. This club is open to anyone 18+ and interested in 3D Printing. Join us on Thursday 5/30 at 231 Main St. Greenfield.

The next meeting of our 3D printing club is this Thursday at 6pm. 231 Main St. in Greenfield. Our first project is focused on building an open source device that will allow us to recycle PET soda bottles into filament to be used in future projects. This is an 18+ club, but makers of all
skill levels are welcome. Please message us for details.
