Expanding Prevention. Reaching More Students. Empowering More Children.

At Zoey’s Place Child Advocacy Center, our work does not begin after a child experiences abuse. Through the forensic interviews we conduct, we see firsthand why prevention is so important. Our Prevention Program gives students the knowledge and skills to recognize unsafe situations, understand boundaries, identify trusted adults, and know how to ask for help.

Prevention cannot eliminate every instance of abuse, but it can empower children to recognize when something isn’t right and give them the confidence and language to speak up.

And our reach is growing.

Last school year, our team of just four prevention presenters reached more than 12,000 students for students K-12. This upcoming school year, we expect to reach more than 18,000 students across schools in 3 counties.

This growth means thousands more children learning about personal safety, body safety, how to recognize signs of abuse, trusted adults, digital safety, unsafe behaviors, and speaking up.

💙 Someone Loves You… and Send A Friend continues to show it for Zoey’s Place!🧸

We are once again absolutely overwhelmed by the generosity of Send A Friend! After their incredibly thoughtful donation earlier this year, they reached out to Zoey’s Place again and sent us another amazing supply of their “Someone Loves You” stuffed animal care packages for the children we serve💙

Seeing all of these boxes stacked up is incredible, but what means even more is knowing what is inside each one: a little bit of comfort, reassurance, and love waiting for a child who may be experiencing one of the hardest days of their life.

We work hard to make our space feel as safe, welcoming, and child-centered as possible. Being able to let a child take home a stuffed animal to call their own may seem like a small gesture, but in that moment, it can mean so much.

And thanks to Send A Friend, we now have so many different friends for children to choose from! 🦒🐢🦥🐻🐼🦛🐒🦙🐙

Each one comes with the simple but incredibly powerful reminder: Someone Loves You.

We are so grateful that Send A Friend chose to support our children not just once, but again. Donations like this allow us to continue providing these comfort items to children at no cost to them or their families, and knowing that this incredible company continues to think of the children at Zoey’s Place means more than we can say.

A HUGE thank you to everyone who donated items this past week to support our prevention program!💙 We are so incredibly grateful for the generosity of our community.

The candy may look like a simple donation, but they help our prevention presenters encourage student participation and engagement during lessons. When students are more engaged, they are more likely to participate in discussions, ask questions, and connect with the important safety information being taught. In return, that helps make our child abuse prevention program stronger, more effective, and more impactful for the children and teens we serve.

We would also LOVE to be able to properly thank everyone who donated! Thank you to everyone who came out and supported our Trivia Night fundraiser tonight!✨

What an incredible evening filled with laughter, friendly competition, and an amazing community coming together for a great cause.
