🎉 We’re excited to launch the new TNSTEP.info!

It’s been more than a year in the making, and we couldn’t be more pleased to debut our redesigned website.

Our goal was simple: make it easier for Tennessee families and youth with disabilities to find trusted, timely, and relevant information about special education and related services—whenever they need it.

The new TNSTEP.info offers a more accessible, user-friendly experience with resources designed to help families understand their options, participate in decision-making, and support their children’s success.

And this is just the beginning! We’ll continue to expand and update the site with resources that are relevant and responsive to the families we serve.

A huge thank you to Pixelcraft Studio, LLC for bringing the site to life, and to TNSTEP’s Stephanie Willis, who provided creative direction, and Lisa Morelock Gosnell, who provided project support.

As the new school year begins, we invite you to join us for TNSTEP's Family Connection Circle, a learning and community-building group for Tennessee families of children and youth (birth to 26) with disabilities. We're kicking things off with a FREE two-part online Collaborative Advocacy training designed to help parents feel more confident participating in IEP meetings!

During this interactive series, you'll:

Join us June 23rd for *Youth Ignited: Why Community Advocacy Matters Now More Than Ever* and learn how youth with disabilities can help influence the future of disability awareness, inclusion, and opportunities in their communities.

In this interactive online training, youth, ages 14-26, will build leadership, communication, and networking skills that can support their advocacy journey—and look great on a résumé.

We're thrilled to share that Tennessee Senator Becky Massey will be joining us to talk about why youth voices matter in our communities and across Tennessee. Participants will also have a chance to ask questions about her role as a state senator and how youth advocates can help create positive change.

Something curious is coming for youth with disabilities! Join TNSTEP for a 2-part virtual training series where we’ll solve a mystery, build self-advocacy skills, and explore real ways youth can use their voices to make a difference.

🔹 PART 1: STINKS TO BE SUE via Zoom
June 16, 2026

We’ll solve the mystery of Sue, a high school student whose plans for life after high school are being made without her input or needs in mind.
Sue has an IEP and a transition plan, but there’s a problem: the plan is not working well for Sue. Together, we’ll look for clues, uncover what went wrong, and learn how youth can take a more active role in planning for life after high school.
This training will cover:
• What a transition plan is and why it matters
• What went wrong with Sue’s plan
• How Sue can rework her plan to better align with her interests, passions, and needs
• Diploma options, supported decision-making, post-high school options, and helpful resources
• Ways youth can build confidence in speaking up for themselves
