Calling all teachers!!!
Do you teach grades 3 - 12? Join the staff of Andrew Johnson National Historic Site for a free Teacher In-Service on Wednesday, July 24th, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. This In-Service opportunity provides Professional Development credit for Greene County School District and Greeneville City Schools teachers.
Park staff welcomes area teachers to learn more about onsite field trips, curriculum-based education programs, NPS education resources, and connect to other local resources for teachers in Greeneville, Tennessee. Subjects of focus will include Civics, Government, Social Studies, and more. In-Service activities will include a tour of the Andrew Johnson National Historic Site - including the Visitor Center Museum, Andrew Johnson's Early Home, and Homestead, as well as a visit to the Greene County Courthouse and Federal Courthouse in Greeneville to hear from court officials about educational programming available to teachers and students. Lunch, refreshments, and workshop supplies will be provided by the Friends of the Andrew Johnson National Historic Site. Spots are limited to 25 participants and there is still plenty of room to sign up to attend this free professional development opportunity.
