It is with very heavy hearts that we remember and honor Dolly Parton. 🤍
Losing someone like Dolly feels a little heavier in a time when it can sometimes feel hard to find the good in people. Dolly was someone we could always look to and say, “There is still good in this world.” 🦋
She believed in kindness, giving back, loving one another, caring for animals, helping children learn to love reading and never forgetting where you came from. She gave so much back to East Tennessee, including our Boys & Girls Club, and we will always be grateful for the impact she had on our children and our community.
As we look for good people to believe in and role models for our kids to look up to, we encourage everyone to be a little more like Dolly. Be the good. Be kind. Keep reading. Give back. Love one another. Take care of people and animals. Make somebody smile. Be someone a child can look up to.
The world may never have another Dolly, but we can all carry a little bit of her goodness with us. That’s how a legacy like hers lives forever. 🤍🦋
We are praying for her family, our community and our country as we all feel this loss. Dolly meant so much to so many people, and this is truly a loss that will be felt far beyond East Tennessee.
In honor of Dolly, we’re asking our BGC kids, staff, families and friends to wear pink this Friday. 🩷🦋
