Today was an incredibly special day as we celebrated the dedication and ribbon-cutting of the Jessica Colter Academic Student Success Center at ETSU College of Nursing.
What began as a scholarship created to honor Jessica’s life has grown into something we could have never imagined. Through a $250,000 pledge from the Jessica Colter Memorial Scholarship Foundation, Jessica’s name now has a permanent home at the university that was such an important part of her life and her dream of becoming a nurse.
As Jessica’s mom, Jennifer, shared today:
“Her name now has a permanent home at ETSU, a university that was such an important part of her life and dreams. And more importantly, this isn’t simply a room with Jessica’s name on it. It’s a place with a purpose.”
That purpose is already making a difference, giving nursing students a place to find support, encouragement, tutoring and mentoring when they need it most.
We are so grateful to ETSU and to every person who has helped turn Jessica’s memory into something that will continue changing lives.
