Ready for another recognition?!?

One of the key partnerships I have made at Be Her Hero is with the Greene County Schools Family Resource Center.

During Hurricane Helene, someone put me in touch with Alisha Ricker, we managed to make a huge impact in those first few weeks and the relationship has grown!

Alisha Ricker has been wonderful in helping us distribute Feminine Hygiene products to schools and students throughout Greene County! Streamlining donation drop offs has been key in helping our organization grow.

This partnership has also given us the opportunity to see a path forward in how we will donate to other school systems! This week we sent out our first round of emails to the seven school systems we how to impact immediately with the State Appropriation.

Our next step is to send out a survey of how we can best impact each of these school systems! But more on that later!

Thank you again to Alisha Ricker for being a Be Her Hero in Action!

For my second , I would like to recognize Representative David Hawk for his support of Be Her Hero and menstrual hygiene equity across Tennessee.

Thank you, Representative Hawk, for co-sponsoring the Menstrual Hygiene Accessibility Act and for believing in this mission. From the moment we discussed my concerns about period poverty and the challenges faced by women and girls in Greene County and across our state, you stepped up and supported the bill.

Thank you for showing up at the Education Committee, standing with me at the press conference, and taking the time to walk me through the legislative process. You helped me better understand how advocacy can lead to meaningful change.

I am also incredibly grateful for your support throughout the Be Her Hero appropriation process.

Your answered all my questions to help me navigate a process that was completely new to me. Because of leaders like you, Be Her Hero is better positioned to serve women and girls across Tennessee for years to come.

You are truly a Be Her Hero in Action.

I can’t think of a better way to begin my series than by recognizing Representative Elaine Davis for her incredible support of not only Be Her Hero, but menstrual hygiene equity across the state of Tennessee.

When I read that Rep. Davis had introduced HB39, I immediately sent her a message to see how I could help. Looking back, it is amazing to think about everything we have accomplished together. From advancing the Menstrual Hygiene Accessibility Act through the Education Committee, to speaking at a joint press conference at the Tennessee State Capitol about the challenges women and girls face when experiencing period poverty, Rep. Davis has been a champion for this cause every step of the way.

I am also incredibly grateful for her support in helping secure the $50,000 state appropriation that will allow Be Her Hero to expand the purchase, storage, and distribution of feminine hygiene products to schools, shelters, and community partners across Tennessee.

Rep. Davis continues to advocate for women not only in East Tennessee, but across our entire state. Her willingness to listen, lead, and take action has helped transform Be Her Hero from a grassroots idea into an organization that is creating meaningful change.

Rep. Davis for believing in this mission and for your commitment to making sure that every woman and girl has access to the products she needs. Your impact will be felt for years to come.

Thank you Representative Davis! You are a Be Her Hero in Action!

One of the key parts of Be Her Hero are the community partnerships I have made to help connect us to women in need.

These partnerships have paved the way for grant funding, education/lobbying opportunities and most of all distribution and collection opportunities!

This week I would love to highlight some of the partnerships that Be Her Hero has built!

Stay tuned for my series of

Today I had the opportunity to donate feminine hygiene products to a new location! The Food Bank in Greeneville! Excited for Be Her Hero to continue to find new donation locations! I also was able to drop off toys for their angel tree program!

When I started Be Her Hero at 10 years old, I never imagined it would grow into what it is today. What started as one donation to one Middle School has grown into a movement that is creating real, measurable impact across Tennessee.

Since out first delivery Be Her Hero has:
• Donated 65,000+ feminine hygiene products
• Served 25 donation locations across 6 East Tennessee counties
• Partnered with schools, shelters, universities, and nonprofits
• Helped provide products to every public school in Greene County through partnerships with the Brooks Foundation and Youth Builders and the Greene County School Resource Office
• Advocated for the Menstrual Hygiene Accessibility Act
• Lobbied at the Tennessee State Capitol to raise awareness about period poverty and menstrual equity
• Received a $50,000 Tennessee state appropriation to help expand our impact statewide

One of the things I’m most proud of is that Be Her Hero has grown from distributing products into advocating for long-term change and access for students and women across Tennessee.

There is still so much work to do, but I’m so thankful for every person, organization, school, and volunteer who has supported my mission.

Small acts really can create statewide impact.

When I started Be Her Hero at 10 years old, I never imagined how it would grow. What started as helping one local middle school has turned into distributing more than 65,000 feminine hygiene products to schools, shelters, universities, and community organizations across Tennessee.

This year, receiving a $50,000 state appropriation was such an incredible step forward for Be Her Hero. Over the next year, this funding will help expand my distribution efforts, reach more communities, and create a more consistent system for getting products to the people who need them most.

I’m going to continue fighting for the Menstrual Hygiene Accessibility Act. I’m incredibly grateful to Representative Elaine Davis for helping secure a $50,000 appropriation that will allow Be Her Hero to bridge the gap across Tennessee this year. This funding means we can continue providing essential products and expanding access while we keep pushing forward. The goal continues: fully funded feminine hygiene products in schools.
