Today feels like a BIG day for Be Her Hero.

The state appropriation officially arrived in the mail, and I have finished the process of setting up the Be Her Hero bank account. After months of paperwork, meetings, planning and hard work, I am so grateful for the opportunity to use this funding to help provide feminine hygiene products to students and communities across Tennessee.

I could not have gotten to this point without so many people who believed in me and in Be Her Hero. A very special thank you to Pryor Law Firm, Heritage Bank, Jennifer Gass, Representatives Elaine Davis and David Hawk, Harvard University’s SPARK program, and my Mom and Dad for supporting me every step of the way.

And thank you to everyone who has donated, volunteered, shared my mission, made an introduction, encouraged me or simply believed in what I am doing.

The funding has arrived, the bank account is ready, and now it is time to get to work!

I am so excited to see what we can accomplish together during the 2026–2027 budget year. This is just the beginning!

I was thrilled to partner with Camryn Sponcia to donate 2,585 feminine hygiene products to the Appalachian Fairest of the Fair fundraiser.

The current reigning Fairest of the Fair, Faith Vance, is accepting personal hygiene donations for The Haven of Rest Mission. These products will be distributed throughout East Tennessee.

As part of competing for this year’s Appalachian Fairest of the Fair, Camryn chose to raise funds or products for Faith’s initiative. I was so happy to support her by donating Be Her Hero products.

I love seeing young women use their platforms to serve others, and I’m grateful Be Her Hero can be part of this effort!

This summer has been such an amazing experience, and I am so thankful for the partnership between Be Her Hero and the Harvard University SPARK Program.

With just a few weeks left with our intern, Kathleen, I am so excited to share that she has done a great job working through the logistics of distributing Be Her Hero’s $50,000 State of Tennessee appropriation.

Most people see the boxes of products being delivered, but there is so much planning that happens before they ever leave our storage room. We’ve spent the summer organizing, planning, and building a system that will help us reach even more schools and communities across East Tennessee. It’s exciting to know that the work we’re doing now will make an even bigger impact in the future.

I’m so grateful that the Harvard University SPARK Program connected us. Kathleen has worked so hard, brought so many great ideas to the table, and has become a wonderful friend along the way.

Thank you, Kathleen, for spending your summer helping Be Her Hero grow. I can’t wait to see all the amazing things you’ll do next, and I’m so grateful our paths crossed.

Thank you to Alisha Ricker from the Greene County Schools Resource Office for inviting me back to the Greene County Schools Back to to School Bash! I was able to hand out 180 Locker Packs and over 5,000 Feminine Hygiene Products to women and girls in Greene County!

One of my favorite projects is our locker packs for back to school events! I thought you might like to see what goes into each pack!

2 maxi pads
5-8 pads
5 liners
10 assorted tampon sizes

100 of our packs will also get a cosmetic bag to keep products in their locker, making it more discreet to carry to the bathroom! Thank you to Jennifer Brown for sending us 72 cosmetic bags for this back to school event!

I am trying to make back to school locker packs for the Greene County Back to School Bash. We were hoping to have the state appropriation back in time to purchase what we needs to help the girls in Greene County. But we are learning it’s a process and won’t be here in time. So we are asking for help!

We needs the bags for the locker packs. We think we have enough pads and tampons. Last year we gave out 150 packs in the first hour of the event so I would love to make at least 250.

2026 Goal Update ✔️

This week, I checked off another important milestone by filing Be Her Hero’s W-9 with the State of Tennessee as we continue working toward receiving our 2026–2027 state appropriation.

While this may seem like paperwork, it’s an important step that moves us closer to expanding our mission and providing more menstrual hygiene products, education, and support to schools and communities across East Tennessee.

Thank you to everyone who continues to believe in this mission and support Be Her Hero. I’m so excited to keep sharing each milestone along the way. One box checked. Many more to come.
