There was a good turn out for the initial meeting of the 2026 season. We offer a very special WELCOME to the Academy Graduates who attended the Alumni Association for the first time. Thank you for being there!

The prospective dates for the Alumni Association participation in the Greendale Downtown Market days are: June27, July25, August22, September19, and October3. All Downtown Market events run from 8:00am to 12:00 noon. New for this year will be the addition of a unique RAFFLE BASKET at our table for each of our attended Market Day Events. Detailed Information will be posted here later.

As always, we are eager to see you on the days we represent the Greendale Police Citizen Academy Alumni Association (GPCAAA) in downtown Greendale. Stop by and see us. Who knows... you may go home with a nice raffle basket!

NOTICE: The first meeting of the 2026 Season for GPCAAA will be held on Thursday, April 23rd @ 1730 (5:30pm) at the Greendale Safety Center.
All Greendale Police Citizen Academy graduates are welcome.

The 2026 Downtown Market will be conducted on Broad Street, Saturdays from 0800-1200 (8:00am – noon), beginning on June 20th and ending on October 3rd.

As we have in the past, Greendale Police Citizen Academy Alumni Association (GPCAAA) will participate on select dates and have our info booth set up. Stop by to chat about our organization, our efforts to support the community, buy a yard sign, or collect info on upcoming events including the 2026 Greendale Police Citizen Academy.

As the 2025 fundraising came to a close, we continued to move closer to meeting our current goal of supplying POCKETALK devices to the GPD for their use in the field. We are almost there!!

POCKETALK is a portable electronic translator device that provides translation of 92 languages, verbal language recognition, written language recognition and translation, and transcription recording of translated dialogs. GPD attendees at a recent Law Enforcement Conference had an opportunity to see the device and converse with company reps. Subsequently, time was spent on the phone with one of the Pocketalk Development reps to get answers to a wide variety of both technical and functional questions.

GPD will be reviewing the available info and will make their final decision in the near future regarding how they would like to proceed. When the decision is made, I trust we will be ready to deliver on our goal. If you'd like to help, reach out and we will provide info on how you can donate.

Today was our final Downtown Market event for the 20205 season. As we end our year of representing our group to the attendees of the market, we'd like to thank all who stopped by to chat, those who bought a yard sign showing their support for First Responders, and those who donated towards our efforts to obtain some new, high tech tools for the PD. We look forward to growing our organization with some new members from the fifth (5th!!!) Citizen Academy Class that kicked off earlier this week. We also look forward to seeing you all when we are back on the street representing the Greendale Police Citizen Academy Alumni Association at Downtown Market in 2026.

All Market Day events run from 8:00am until 12:00 noon on Saturday mornings, every weekend from June 21st through October 4th. (The market was limited on August 9th due to the Greendale Village Days Celebration).

Our only remaining date for presence at the event is Saturday, October 4th. Feel free to stop by, learn about the Citizen Academy and it's Alumni Association, or purchase a yard sign to show your support for our First Responders.

Our regularly scheduled Alumni Association meetings will resume sometime after the final Market Day event. Info will be posted on this FB page.
