The Greenbank Progressive Club will hold its monthly potluck dinner and meeting on Thursday, April 9, at the Bakken & Firehouse Roads Clubhouse in Greenbank. Meet and greet will begin at 6:00 PM with dinner at 6:30 PM. Everyone is invited and asked to bring a dish to share and their own table service.

After dinner, we'll enjoy a game night organized by our very own Mistress of Merriment, Heather Anson. So come prepared for fun and prizes!

Also, please note that the club's annual spring clean-up will happen this coming Saturday, April 11. Clean-up will run from 10am to 2pm, including a lunch provided by the club and prepared by Susanna. Carl will have a sign-up sheet for clean-up duties at this week's meeting.

The speaker for the evening is Jessica Larson, Stewardship Director for Whidbey Camano Land Trust. Jessica will give a presentation about the work the land trust is doing in Lagoon Point and throughout Whidbey Island.

Meet and greet will begin at 6:00 PM with dinner at 6:30. Everyone is invited and asked to bring a dish to share and their own table service.

After dinner, The board will present the club's budget for 2026 along with a number of other proposals for review and acceptance. Dues paid members will be eligible to vote.

It was a special treat to have Dr. Florian Graner as our guest speaker for the first dinner meeting of 2026. As the new Executive Director of Sound Water Stewards, Dr. Graner gave a brief overview of the work Sound Water Stewards is doing in Island County such as the upcoming Sound Waters University and a number of community science projects. He also shared clips
from his film Beneath the Salish Sea, showing some of the marine creatures that live in the waters surrounding Whidbey Island, including the Giant Pacific octopus, Chinook salmon, grey whales and orcas.

Happy New Year!

Come join us for our first monthly potluck dinner and meeting of 2026 on Thursday, January 8, at the Bakken & Firehouse Roads Clubhouse in Greenbank. Meet and greet begins at 6:00 PM with dinner at 6:30. Everyone is invited and asked to bring a dish to share and their own table service.

Speaker for the evening will be Dr. Florian Graner, the new Executive Director of Sound Water Stewards. Dr. Graner is a noted marine biologist with a focus on marine conservation and science communication. He is also an accomplished filmmaker whose latest film “Orcas — Life in Black and White”was released in 2025 to international acclaim.

Remember to bring your annual dues of $25 per person to the meeting. We accept check or cash. You may also mail your payment to the Greenbank Progressive Club, PO Box 52, Greenbank, WA 98253.

The Board will provide ham for the main course. Members and guests are asked to bring sides and dessert.

Entertainment will be by Kristi O'Donnell and her trio. They will play up-full swing and your favorite seasonal tunes for our Holiday Party.

Monthly potluck dinner and a short business meeting to elect new officers for 2026 will be on Thursday, Nov 13 at Bakken & Firehouse Roads Clubhouse in Greenbank. Meet and greet begins at 6 PM with dinner at 6:30. Everyone is invited and asked to bring a dish to share and their own table service.

Speaker for the evening is John Becker, Training and Exercise Coordinator of the Island County Department of Emergency Management.

Reminder: We will be collecting non-perishable food items to donate to Queen Bee Pantry or other food pantries on the Island. All donations are greatly appreciated!
