As we head into brush fire season, we want to remind everyone that burn permits are required from October 15th through May 15th.

Make sure you get your burn permit through the www.tn.gov website.

Before starting your burn:
• Get your required burn permit
• Check the weather and wind conditions
• Keep a water source and tools nearby
• Never leave your fire unattended
• Make sure your fire is completely out before leaving

A small fire can get out of control quickly, especially with dry leaves, grass, and changing winds.

🚨 ⚠️ EXTRA TRAFFIC EXPECTED THIS WEEKEND ⚠️ 🚨

With the 411 Yard Sale and Bike Week events happening in the area, our roads are going to be much busier than normal.

PLEASE SLOW DOWN AND STAY ALERT!

- Watch carefully for motorcycles — they can be difficult to see in heavy traffic.
- Be alert for pedestrians and people crossing the roadway.
- Do not follow too closely, and allow extra time to stop.
- Put the phone down and keep your attention on the road.
- Keep fire lanes, intersections, and emergency access areas clear.
- Expect delays and give yourself extra time to reach your destination.

A few extra minutes on the road is worth it to make sure everyone gets home safely.

Whether you’re a local resident or visiting our area, PLEASE SLOW DOWN, STAY ALERT, AND DRIVE DEFENSIVELY. Let’s work together to make this a safe weekend for everyone.

As leaves start falling and everyone gets outside to clean up their yards, please use extreme caution with outdoor burning.

- Check conditions before you burn
- Keep fires away from homes, vehicles & wooded areas
- Keep a hose or water source nearby
- Never leave a fire unattended
- If the wind picks up, put it out!
- Make sure your fire is completely out before you leave

What starts as a small burn pile can quickly turn into a brush fire. A little extra caution can help keep our community safe.

With multiple Bike Week events going on, expect to see more motorcycles on the roads around us.

Please slow down, stay alert, and share the road!

- Watch for motorcycles
- Check twice before turning or changing lanes
- Give riders plenty of space
- Keep emergency access clear

To everyone out riding this week — enjoy the ride, and most importantly, get home safe!

When you call 911, every second matters. One simple thing you can do to help us is make sure your house number is clearly visible from the road.

Take a look at your numbers and make sure they’re:
• Easy to see day or night
• Large enough for emergency crews to read
• Not covered by bushes, trees, decorations, or anything else

Keep in mind, GPS doesn’t always take us directly to the right house. Clearly visible house numbers help us quickly confirm we’re at the right location, especially on rural roads, long driveways, or homes that are close together.

We don’t want to waste valuable time looking for the right house when you need help!

Twenty-five years have passed, but we will never forget September 11, 2001.

2,977 innocent lives were taken. Among them were 441 first responders who ran toward the danger, knowing the risks, and gave their lives trying to save others.

Today, we remember the families, friends, and loved ones left behind, and we honor the courage and sacrifice of every hero who answered the call.

Twenty-five years later, their sacrifice still means something. Their courage still inspires us. Their names still matter.

We remember those we lost.
We honor those who served.
And we will never forget. 🇺🇸

HYDRATE. HYDRATE. HYDRATE. 💧

The heat is no joke, especially when you’re working outside, exercising, or spending the day at the ball field.

- Drink plenty of water
- Take breaks and cool down
- Avoid prolonged time in the heat
- Keep an eye on kids, elderly family members, and your pets

Don’t wait until you’re thirsty to start drinking water!

Stay cool. Stay safe. STAY HYDRATED!

🔥 Fire Tip Friday 🔥

Harvest season means long days, hard work, and equipment running for hours at a time. Unfortunately, that also means a higher chance of an equipment fire.

A few simple things can help prevent a bad day from getting worse:

• Keep engines and exhaust areas free of hay, straw, leaves, and debris.

• Check for fuel, oil, and hydraulic leaks regularly.

• Keep electrical wiring and batteries in good condition.

• Give equipment a chance to cool down before parking it inside a barn or near hay.
• Carry a properly rated fire extinguisher on your equipment.

• Know how to safely shut the machine down if a fire starts.

And if your equipment does catch fire: shut it down, get away from it, and call 911. Don’t risk your safety trying to save the tractor.

🔥 FIRE TIP FRIDAY🔥

If your vehicle starts smoking or catches fire, knowing what to do can make a big difference.

- Pull over safely and turn off the engine if you can.

- Get everyone out immediately and move a safe distance away from the vehicle.

- Never open the hood or trunk if you suspect a fire. Opening it can introduce oxygen and cause the fire to grow rapidly.

- Call 911 and give the dispatcher your location and vehicle description.

- Do not attempt to drive the vehicle or get back inside.

We know you’ve got important stuff in that vehicle, but trust us—none of it is worth going back inside for. Your vehicle is replaceable, you and your passengers are not!
