Each month, the Green Schools Foundation proudly recognizes outstanding staff members who go above and beyond to make a difference in the lives of our students. We are honored to celebrate three exceptional individuals whose dedication, compassion, and commitment exemplify the very best of Green Local Schools.

Maya Israel – Green Middle School Intervention Specialist

These remarkable educators and support professionals work tirelessly to ensure every student feels supported, valued, and empowered to succeed.

A special note of recognition goes to Mr. Nick Landi, who is being honored not only for his outstanding work with students each day, but also for his quick thinking and heroic actions when he performed the Heimlich maneuver on a student in need—ultimately saving that student's life. His calm response and selfless care are a powerful reminder that educators make an impact in ways that extend far beyond the classroom.

Early in the fall, Mr. Owen, team advisor, received a grant from the Green School Foundation to purchase a new "buzzer" system for the Green High School Academic Challenge team. The buzzer, synonymous with Academic Challenge, was greatly needed and contributed to this year's team's success.

The Green High School Academic Challenge finished up its season at the North Coast Regional Tournament. The team finished 5th out of 16 teams after defeating Beachwood, Rocky River, and Independence. The student did a great job - it is a young team!

AC team members include: Zoey Yoder, Graham Campbell, Dylan Richards, Austin Loveland, Chris Zhao, and Danielle Divoky.

The Foundation is proud to support academic excellence in the classroom and beyond. Congratulations, Academic Challenge Team!

Each year, the Green Schools Foundation proudly sponsors the annual Better Business Bureau's Laws of Life essay contest. After district judging, all essays are submitted to the BBB for additional evaluation. This year's theme was Civility, challenging students to reflect on the importance of respectful communication, courtesy, and ethical behavior in personal and professional life. The contest asks students to describe a personal experience illustrating these values and how it influences their future leadership.
