Green River's Scott's Bottom Nature area continues to recover from last month's fire with the help of City of Green River Park crews, greenbelt partners and the public.

The city was able to use a trash pump and flood the old river channels. The simulated flood reached part of the burnt area. Seedskadee National Wildlife Refuge lent the city a sprinkler system that brought water out of the river and on to damaged areas. Grass is returning in most areas where water reaches it. Moisture is in the weather forcast this week which is pleasant news.

The city plans on keeping people out of the area for the foreseeable future. Major events planned in the area have been moved to other locations. The public has been great at staying out of the area aiding the recovery.
