The Green Isle Lions Club is part of Lions Club International, the largest and most active service club in the world. Lions Club International was founded by Chicago insurance man Melvin Jones in 1917. Lions Club International now has near
ly 1.5 million members in 43,000 clubs in 183 countries and geographic areas. Lions Club International is divided into districts. Our Club is located in district 5M-2 which is part of Multiple District 5M. District 5M includes all of Minnesota, Manitoba and Northwest Ontario. Geographically, District 5M-2 is made up of 12 south central Minnesota counties: Blue Earth, Carver, Faribault, Freeborn, LeSueur, McLeod, Nicollet, Rice, Scott, Sibley, Steele and Waseca. Contact a Lion Member to provide more information. We certainly welcome you to our group. The Green Isle Lions Club meets regularly on the 1st and 4th Mondays of each month at the Green Isle Community Room. The first Monday of the month is a dinner and program meeting. The fourth Monday is a business meeting. The meetings are at 8p.m. Lions membership offers a great opportunity to be a part of an active, fun, supportive and growing organization. To the Lions, "We Serve" is not only a motto, but philosophy and our reason for being.
