A little behind-the-scenes update… 🧱🤎

I’ve been spending a lot of time working on something I’m really excited to share — our Historic Brick & Beam Preservation website is coming together!

When I started this, the goal was never just to save one old building. I wanted to create something that could eventually help others who look at an old building and think, “I want to save this… but I have no idea where to start.”

That’s a big part of what we’re building — resources, grants and funding information, restoration guidance, project updates, and lessons from our own journey. Hopefully, it becomes a place that makes saving an old building feel a little less overwhelming.

And another exciting milestone… we’re almost at our first 100 followers! 🥹 For a brand-new nonprofit with a pretty big dream, that means so much.

Did you know how difficult it can be for owners of historic buildings to find funding for restoration?

Grants specifically supporting privately owned historic buildings are surprisingly rare—and funding for specialized work like historic brick repair, foundations, windows, and structural stabilization can be even harder to find.

Many owners want to save these buildings. They simply don’t know where to begin, who to call, what resources exist, or how they could ever afford the first repair.

That is exactly what Historic Brick & Beam Preservation is working to change.

We are building a place where historic building owners can find resources, understand their options, connect with knowledgeable professionals, and take that all-important first step toward saving a piece of their community’s history.

Because sometimes a building isn’t lost from a lack of love—it’s lost from a lack of resources and a clear place to start.

Historic Brick & Beam Preservation is looking for passionate volunteers to help us grow our mission of preserving historic buildings, raising awareness, creating fundraising opportunities, and keeping our small towns strong.

Whether you have a few hours a month or want to be more involved, there's a place for you. Help us brainstorm community events, organize fundraisers, connect with local businesses, raise awareness, or simply share your ideas and enthusiasm. Every contribution—big or small—makes a difference.
