🌿 A New Chapter for this Historic House Begins

The Green Cove Springs Preservation Society is pleased to share that the City of Green Cove Springs has approved a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) allowing the Society and the City to work together in partnership to preserve and renovate this historic House.

An MOU simply outlines how two organizations will cooperate toward a shared goal. In this case, it establishes a framework for the City and the Preservation Society to begin planning and developing the restoration of this important historic property while ensuring the building remains protected for the public.

Through this partnership, the Preservation Society will help seek grants, private donations, and community support, allowing the project to move forward in thoughtful phases and reducing the need for City tax dollars. The agreement provides a clear path for collaboration as plans develop and the community becomes involved.

Green Cove Springs has a wonderful tradition of citizens and the City working together to accomplish meaningful projects. Many years ago, our community came together to help build the beloved Spring Park gazebo, which continues to host music, gatherings, and celebrations for our town.

This House represents another opportunity for our community to preserve our past while creating something meaningful for future generations.

We look forward to sharing updates as this exciting project moves forward and to inviting the community to be part of this new chapter. 🌿
