Today, we remember Clay County Sheriff Charles Wilson, who was shot and killed on this date in 1906. Sheriff Wilson was attempting to arrest a suspect boarding a train. A passenger killed the suspect on the train.
Sheriff Wilson served from 1905 until his death. His wife and three sons survived him.
