Congratulations to Curt Guiles, our 2026 Green Castle Community Annual Labor Day Celebration Grand Marshal! We look forward to celebrating with him.
The Green Castle Lions Club is pleased to announce Curt Guiles as the 2026 Green Castle Community Labor Day Celebration Grand Marshal!
Curt has called Green Castle home for the past 40 years, but his ties to the community goes back even further. Curt and his two brothers, Craig Guiles and the late Rex Guiles, have deep roots in the Green Castle and Green City communities. The Guiles family was actively involved in the area throughout the years, creating a lasting connection to the place Curt has called home. Curt spent a short time living in Novinger before returning to Green Castle. In 1998, Curt married his late wife, Edith (Edie), and the two shared 27 years of marriage. Many friends and community members also know Curt by his longtime nickname, βMoose.β
Curt's work and life have always been closely connected to the area. Over the years, he drove a truck for his father, Ed Guiles, farmed with Buddy True, worked for the City of Green City, also power washed and chored local hog barns. He especially enjoys car shows, truck pulls, side-by-side rides, and farming. In fact, Curt has probably attended just about every car show or truck pull Green Castle has ever hosted.
Those who have attended the celebration over the years may recognize him arriving bright and early Saturday morning for the car show, ready to polish up his car and secure his favorite spot beneath the shade tree. This year, Curt will experience the Labor Day celebration from a very special place, as the 2026 Grand Marshal. When asked what he is most looking forward to, Curt's answer was simple: celebrating with the community.
Curt would like to extend his sincere thanks to the Green Castle Lions Club and everyone who nominated him for this honor. We are excited to recognize Curt Guiles as our 2026 Grand Marshal and celebrate his many years in the Green Castle community.
Join us in congratulating Curt during this year's Labor Day celebration, and give him a big wave when you see him in the Labor Day parade on Monday morning!
