A huge shout out and sincere THANK YOU to the group, Our Monthly Resolution, and also, the generous and kind people that have donated financially, dropped off yarn or ordered yarn to be sent directly to us…for our “Inmates Helping OUT” program.
The yarn has been an incredible Blessing to us. When the men HAVE the yarn, they can make the most wonderful items for use in our other programs and for others in need. We do this all year long, but it was perfect timing as the approved knitting program men at the correctional institution were out of yarn. They rely upon us for the donations of yarn - which they return back to us in hats, gloves, stuffed animals, tote bags, blankets, etc. It’s such a win/win/win!
We. Are. Grateful. ❤️

What a beautiful, sunny day to do something nice for others. We took bags filled with new gifts to give to the temporarily-unpaid workers at Austin Straubel Airport to help supplement for their kids this upcoming Easter.

Hey, you! Yes, you. The one with all those crafting supplies that you know you will never use, don't want to throw away and need a place for them to go.
We have a place for you!
Giving is Good, Inc. is in need of Crafting Supplies for their Volunteer Work.
Giving Is Good, Inc. is a non-profit charitable organization located in Green Bay, founded in 2019, with a mission to:
“Get good things into the hands of the people that need them.”
We use MANY craft supplies!! We do a lot of hand-making new items, repurposing old items, or enhancing existing items, to bring necessity, fun and/or some much-needed joy to those in need. Would you happen to have any of these items to donate?

YARN - for our “Inmates Helping OUT” and “Giving Is Golden” programs. The yarn can be new skeins, partially used, or rolled up yarn. ANY kinds/brands of yarn work. Hats, scarves, mittens, slippers, small bags, blankets, soap or jewelry sacks, washcloths, etc., are created with so much love!!

FLEECE or REGULAR FABRIC - for making pencil cases (to hold pencils, pens, pencil sharpener, crayons, glue stick and small scissors). Hand-made puppets, marble mazes, small tote bags, mini pillows, etc. are also created for children.

WISHED FOR ITEMS - fun/colorful stickers, organza-type small bags, ribbon used for tote bag handles, poly-fill, googly eyes, sheets of felt, jingle bells, wooden beads (round) with faces (or plain), and larger sized buttons. These items are for embellishing, creating toys, and finishing items to look nice.

We welcome people to partner with us, who wish to donate their hand-made items to our charity for use in our programs. Examples include: sewing pencil cases, small totes, etc., or knitting or crocheting items, etc.)

Items can be dropped off in our donation bin at: 2701 Larsen Road, Green Bay.
(We are just down the road from the Botanical Garden, past the stop sign, at the bottom of the hill. There’s a sign at the driveway that says, “The Startup Hub.” The bin is located immediately to your right inside the first set of doors.)

Every once in awhile our non-profit has a specific need we put out there publicly for that someone/s that feels led to help us out.
Our need is one or two “portable” carts. Almost daily we load a vehicle, pick items up, or deliver items. Our poor little portable cart isn’t working anymore and actually causes more grief than it’s worth. 😩
Pictured is the cart we wish for. 💜 One would be wonderful. Two would be just as wonderful if two different people would like to help.

It’s random give-away time! Easter. The season of Good News!
So…What’s inside these gold bags? Inside are items for a child aged 4 to 10. Each bag has bubbles, paint kit, 5 small toys, water bottle OR cups, 4 pairs of socks, bars of soap, toothpaste for child and adult, stuffed animal, and a Little Golden Book “The Easter Story”. ❤️💜💛
There are 28 bags - some boy bags and some girl bags.
To be given a bag - here are the 4 simple rules:
1. Already know a child in that age-range you can gift this to.
2. Must be able to pick the bag up in Green Bay (west side) by March 30th - (time-frame can be arranged.)
3. One bag per family.
4. Comment on this post once - either “Boy” or “Girl”.
That’s it!
We will put all the names in a bucket that comment until Friday, draw 14 “boys” and 14 “girls”, contact you, and will start planning next Monday your pick up date and time.

To all of you that have recently donated yarn. Wow! What a blessing. We need it!
To those that have recently donated financially. We couldn’t do all we are achieving without financial support. Thank you for remembering the small charities that are MIGHTY and need funds to survive. We are mighty!
To all of you that share in, read about and learn the good we are doing for people - it’s our mission and passion - thank you for cheering us on and donating needed items for our programs. Some needs are constant and some specialized needs are ever-changing.

When a Sergeant at the correctional institute we partner with emails us with the word “desperate” in it, we take action immediately! 😱😊
One of our programs is called “Inmates Helping OUT”. If you look back at our page you can read some pretty inspirational stories. We bring the participants of the knitters program YARN, and the approved inmates knit and crochet items we then receive back to use in our programs for those in need. It’s such a win/win! They make the most beautiful items! Hats, scarves, mittens, afghans, etc. (It’s cold out there.)🥶
But get this…The men cannot knit or crochet without donated yarn. It must be donated.
Well…. They are completely out of yarn. They’re unable to make us items. They have stopped knitting. No yarn? No hats. These men take incredible care and precision with their work. They love to know that despite where they are, they have an opportunity to GIVE BACK and DO GOOD. I meet with these men yearly. They are truly dedicated to making sure to create items that others need and will use and enjoy.
Two things: Do you have yarn? Any yarn. We will take it.
OR…if you don’t have any yarn, would you consider donating financially to us? Any amount will help. We will go buy the yarn! I’ll fill my vehicle!

Suggestions welcome! Giving Is Good, Inc. has been donating bulk amounts of new bars of soap over the past six weeks to food pantries, shelters, assisted living homes, etc. We are looking to donate more, to nonprofits that we may have not thought of, that could use a specified amount. If you have a connection to a charitable cause that could use a box of bars of soap, please comment or message our page. Thank you!

Things come in…items go out! This is what cheerfully and wonderfully happens on a regular basis here at Giving Is Good. We had a great afternoon of things coming IN. Tonight, we were happy to fill up our favorite cart (named Norman) with toys, clothing, hygiene items, flashlights, puppets, tools, spiral journals and various other things that filled that entire suitcase…(that suitcase is FULL!) for a group traveling to the Dominican Republic for a missions trip. Great items going OUT! We hope all the items help in many ways for kids and adults and bring some much needed joy. We are so glad to partner with people out there doing GOOD in the world. ❤️

Thank you “Dorsch - Ford, Lincoln, Kia” in Green Bay for coming today with a BIG check and presenting it to Giving Is Good, Inc. (Those big checks are so much fun!) Their employees donated for “jeans days”, and also had bake sales in the month of December to raise funds for our charity, and the company matched it. This is so wonderful! We are incredibly grateful!
