Walleyes for Tomorrow is already looking ahead to our next projects.
The first pictures are from near the Brown County Fairgrounds, and the others are from the Peshtigo River. If you think we’re slowing down when it comes to making this fishery better… you’re wrong. We’re excited to get the next project underway and continue building for the future of our fishery.
We’re especially encouraged after seeing active spawning on our first project, Labby Reef, during electrofishing surveys conducted by the biologists. We’re excited to see the results from this year’s spawn.
This spring gave us a long, drawn-out spawning period with plenty of water flow — conditions that usually lead to a strong spawn. Keep your fingers crossed.
The Green Bay Chapter was also proud to help the Shawano Chapter of Walleyes for Tomorrow collect eggs for their hatchery efforts. Altogether, WFT collected around 10 million eggs on Shawano Lake this year and released millions of walleye fry into Shawano Lake.
It’s been an incredible start for the Green Bay Chapter, and we’re just getting started. The future is bright for our fishery. 🎣
