Our park is getting a new name…

Keeping neighborhood history alive!

Last night, the City Council officially voted to rename Beaver Dam Park to MacArthur Family Park. This new name keeps the memory of MacArthur Elementary School alive as the building gets torn down, while celebrating two historic American leaders: World War II General Douglas MacArthur and his father, Wisconsin Civil War hero Arthur MacArthur. It is a wonderful way to preserve our community's roots for generations to come.

New Stretch of Hinkle Street Opening to Traffic Tomorrow Morning

The City of Green Bay Department of Public Works has announced that an entirely new section of Hinkle Street, extending from the intersection of West Mason Street to Hobart Drive, will officially open to traffic on the morning of Friday, July 31, 2026.

In conjunction with this opening, the existing right-in right-out access point will be permanently closed on Friday morning and is scheduled to be removed during the week of August 3.

While the roadway will be open to through traffic, motorists are advised that additional landscaping and restoration work will continue throughout the week of August 3. This remaining work will be conducted under shoulder closures. Drivers are encouraged to exercise caution while traveling through the area.

With our recent heavy rain events, it is a good time to remind people to check your block’s storm drains.
