Gary has faithfully served with Crisis Cafe every Tuesday evening for a year and a half. Whether it is 90 degrees or -3 degrees, pouring rain or a blizzard, he always has a smile on his face and has a joke ready for us. He even plays “Happy Birthday” on the saxophone for birthdays!

Gary is having a back procedure on Thursday and we would appreciate your prayers for him! He is a very special member of the Crisis Cafe family. 💚GET WELL SOON GARY! 💚Can’t wait to hear more bad jokes from you. 🙃

🥪🍔❓WHATS FOR DINNER❓🍔🥪
Phil spends a lot of time in the Crisis Cafe kitchen, but he also spends A LOT of time at grocery stores, organizing the freezers, managing inventory, and menu planning.

He has an amazing gift of getting everything done at the same time, tasting good, staying hot, AND in the right quantities AND budget.

One of his favorite things is seeing volunteers smile when he lets them know at the end of their shift how much time they saved us. For instance, a group of 8 that serves for an hour and a half saves us 12 hours of work!

He also wants to thank💙💚 Brett Huss💙💚 for “nudging” him to consider how God could use his talents for HIS GLORY. We love you and miss you, Brett. Phil wants everyone to just “SAY YES” to what God is pressing on your heart!

👏🏻📖STORY TIME 👏🏻📖
After a year of planning, designing, late nights, and a whole lot of volunteer help,❗️WE WELCOMED VOLUNTEERS into the kitchen FOR THE FIRST TIME 5 YEARS AGO TODAY❗️

Since then, we have prepared thousands of meals, shared laughs and tears with thousands of volunteers, prayed for the hurting, and made many new friends and connections.

We are so very grateful for this gift God gave to Crisis Cafe. THANK YOU to everyone who donated to the kitchen project and those who faithfully donate to keep the ministry operating!

❤️🏘️NEIGHBORHOOD PARTY🏘️❤️
What a fun time we had in our own neighborhood tonight! Everyone brought chairs into the cul de sac, grabbed a hot dog and some snacks, and we all chatted until dark. We were even treated by a rainbow. It was a beautiful night with you,Rolling Green Drive neighbors! Thank you for your support of Crisis Cafe.

🐾🏐LADY BOBCATS 🐾🏐
It was a fun morning with the Bay City Christian School Lady Bobcat Volleyball team! We did some yardwork at a local non profit and then served the residents some tasty grilled cheese made by Phil. Thanks girls and Coach Knepp! Have a great season!

💲💲TORNADO RELIEF 💲💲
What a month it has been! You all have been so generous and donated over $6000 to the Menasha tornado relief fund ❗️👏🏻❗️👏🏻

So far, we were able to serve about 500 meals in the affected neighborhoods, clear trees and debris for about 20 families, and send a care package to each home we served. Each care package includes a New Testament, trauma care information, a package of fresh Colombian coffee, and a gift card for groceries or supplies.

Thank you for your generosity! We will continue to support these families however we can in a long term relationship.

🍪🍪THANK YOU BILL AND PEGGY🍪🍪
Every Tuesday, Bill makes 6 dozen cookies for the Crisis Cafe homeless dinners. Bill is a retired baker and loves being in the kitchen and blessing us with his talents. During the Menasha Tornado response, Bill made❗️60 DOZEN COOKIES❗️and every meal received one of of Bill’s delicious goodies. Of course, we always need to “sample” his cookies because they look sooo very good! THANK YOU BILL AND PEGGY!

🌲🪾ONE MORE DAY 🪾🌲
As we finished up in the neighborhoods on Sunday afternoon, the emotions hit. God is always working and connecting people in His timing and plans. Duane has taken care of trees professionally almost his whole life and he served with Crisis Cafe during Hurricane Helene relief. When the tornado hit, I called him in Sauk City and asked “How do you feel about coming up to help?” He quickly answered, “I’ll be there.”

🪾🌲Duane gave us 3 days of his time, 12 hour days, dropping trees and branches, many in very precarious positions. He never complained or stopped. He finished one job and headed to the next. He’s a kind and humble soul and talked with the homeowners as if they were his own kids. We finished up tree work on houses about 4pm on Sunday and then he even went to a local church and dropped one more tree that had been struck by lightning.

🌲🪾As he left, I said “Are you going to answer my phone call the next time?” He sheepishly grinned and said “Of course, anytime.” Thank you Duane! You allowed us to connect with people, practically help, and get meals out to those without power because of your gift!
