We are SO thankful to the IBEW Local 158 members Scott Evenstad journeyman electrician, Jim Lau retired journeyman, Alexander Holm VDH construction wireman, and Pedro Martinez VDH Electric journeyman electrician for offering to install the wiring for ALL our 21 homes!

Great day at IBEW Local 158! ⚡️

We were proud to welcome David Crowley and Governor Tony Evers to the IBEW Local 158 Union Hall and Training Center today.

During their visit, they toured our training facility and talked about the importance of union apprenticeship, skilled trades, family-supporting wages, and creating opportunities for Wisconsin’s working men and women.

We appreciate David Crowley and Governor Evers taking the time to see firsthand how IBEW members are trained and the important role the union construction trades play in building Wisconsin.

Now it’s our turn to show up.

The Democratic Primary for Governor is Tuesday, August 11. Get out and vote! Make your voice heard and encourage your family, friends, and fellow union members to do the same.

⚡ **UNION CONSTRUCTION WORKERS — THIS ELECTION MATTERS.** ⚡

For those of us in the Building Trades, elections aren’t just about politics. They can determine **who gets the work, what that work pays, and whether the next generation has the opportunity to build a career in the trades.**

David Crowley has made his position clear:

👷 **Restore Prevailing Wage** — Protect family-supporting wages and benefits on taxpayer-funded construction.

🤝 **Bring Back Project Labor Agreements** — Give union contractors and skilled tradespeople a fair opportunity to build Wisconsin’s major projects.

🛠️ **Expand Registered Apprenticeships** — Create more pathways for Wisconsin workers to learn a skilled trade, earn while they learn, and build a career without taking on massive college debt.

💪 **Protect the Right to Organize** — Crowley has called for repealing Wisconsin’s so-called “Right-to-Work” law and strengthening workers’ ability to collectively bargain.

Crowley grew up in a union household. His father was a **master electrician**, and he has spoken about seeing firsthand what a union job can provide: good wages, benefits, workplace safety, and the ability to support a family.

That commitment is one reason the **IBEW Wisconsin State Conference**, representing more than 21,000 active and retired members, has endorsed David Crowley for Governor.

For Wisconsin’s construction workers, this is about more than one election.

It’s about **protecting our wages. Protecting our standards. Creating union construction opportunities. And making sure Wisconsin’s future is built by skilled Wisconsin workers.**

The Democratic Primary is next week Tuesday! IBEW Wisconsin State Conference has endorsed David Crowley, Milwaukee County Executive, for the next Governor of Wisconsin.

Dave Crowley understands the importance of union labor because it's part of his story. As the son of a master electrician, he knows firsthand the value of good-paying union jobs, strong apprenticeship programs, and protecting the rights of working families.
"My dad was a master electrician and a proud union member. I am honored to have the IBEW Wisconsin State Conference and its 21,600 members with ."

- Supported legislation that provided Milwaukee County with long-term fiscal stability, helping preserve public services and public-sector jobs.

- Has backed investments in infrastructure, affordable housing, and economic development projects that can create construction employment.

Wisconsin State AFL-CIO endorses AD 21 Candidate Dan Bukiewicz and is holding a Union Member Canvass for Dan on Wednesday, July 29th from 10am to 4pm. Scan the QR code to register. Dan Bukiewicz is a union leader, IBEW 494 Member, and currently serving as the Mayor of Oak Creek and the President of the Milwaukee Building and Construction Trades Council.

It is with deep sympathy that we are sharing the passing of retiree Kenneth J. Kruzicki on July 01, 2026. Kenneth was born October 15, 1944, and was initiated into IBEW Local 751, Manitowoc, WI, in May of 1963 prior to being amalgamated into IBEW Local 158. He retired in October of 2009. Kenneth was a 42-year member of IBEW Local 158.
His family held a private ceremony upon his passing and no obituary was made available.

It is with deep sympathy that we are sharing the passing of retiree Kevin M. VanLaanen on July 12, 2026. Kevin was born August 2, 1955 and was initiated into IBEW Local 158 on June 6, 2000, and retired December of 2021. Kevin was a 21-year member of IBEW Local 158. Visitation will take place on Thursday, July 23, 2026, from 4:00-7:00 pm at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, with a Celebration of Life at 7:00 pm.

It is with deep sympathy that we are sharing the passing of retiree Dennis S. Klapatch on April 20, 2026. Dennis was born November 3, 1957, and initiated into IBEW Local 158 on March 4, 1996, and retired June of 2018. Dennis was a 22-year member of IBEW Local 158.
A celebration of life will be held Sunday, May 17, 2026, at A Gathering For You 822 Cormier Road Green Bay, WI from 1 to 4PM. ⚡️ “No Tax on Overtime” – Quick Facts ⚡️

Brothers and Sisters,

You may be hearing about “No Tax on Overtime,” but here’s the reality:

🔹 It’s not all OT pay – Only the extra half-time portion qualifies, not your full overtime wage.
🔹 You may have to calculate it – It likely will not show up clearly on your W-2, if at all.
🔹 Not all OT counts – Only federally required overtime applies. (overtime after 40 hours, only.)
🔹 State taxes may still apply – You could still pay tax on OT on state taxes.

Bottom line: It’s not as simple as it sounds—make sure you understand it before filing your taxes.
