Kick Off the Holiday Season in the Downtown District! 🎄

This week marks the start of the holiday season downtown:

Join us and People for People of Green Bay at 6:00 PM for the annual Peace Tree Lighting, filled with music and festive cheer!

🎅 Saturday, Nov 23rd – Green Bay Holiday Parade presented by HSHS St. Vincent Children's Hospital
Celebrate 40 years of the Green Bay Holiday Parade! Join us at 10:00 AM for floats, marching bands, and a visit from Santa!

Another fantastic International Student Night in the books for our group. Every year in November we honor 15 students from three area colleges, UWGB, NWTC & SNC.
We come together for a meal, knowledge about diverse cultures & such warm conversations!

Last night’s presentation by David & Rosann Hollinger was one that our members won’t soon forget.
It was a 14 day wildlife eco-tour of Costa Rica. It was filled with breath taking photos of rare beautiful birds, heart melting sloths, alligators, monkeys, bats, ant eaters & breath taking views of the national forest.
David & Rosann & four others had the best tour guide who had everything planned out to the tee. They were able to walk the beaches, swim amongst the glowing floral in the ocean, hike, kyack & go river rafting. Every meal was beyond delicious & they highly recommend this tour.
A big thanks to David & Rosann for their time, research & humor.
Next month on 11/14/23 is our International Student Night where we invite/honor 15 students from UWGB, St. Norbert College & NWTC. Our special guest speaker will be one of People For People’s long time supporter’s, Brown County Executive Troy Streckenbach. This will be at the Village Grille located at 801 Hoffman Rd.
Also, on 11/15/23, the next night, our group will be participating in the lighting of the Peace Tree at the Court house.

We had the privilege of listening to Andy Belter at our last meeting. Andy lived in China with his wife for several years where he was a teacher. Thus, he was able to give a superb presentation on all that he encountered there. Thank you so much Andy!
Our next meeting is on Tuesday, 10/10/23 at 4:30. It will be held at the Village Grille located at 801 Hoffman Rd. Our guest speakers will be Rosann and Dave Hollinger on Costa Rica.
Please call Terri at 920-265-8301 if you’d like to join us. Rsvp needed if joining us for the meal. The speaker goes on at 5:30-5:45. We’d love to have you!
One last note: The Peace Tree Lighting Ceremony which is held at the Brown County Courthouse is scheduled for Wednesday, 11/15/23 at 5:45. Stay tuned for any changes.

We closed out our 2022/2023 season with Steve & Ruth Ann Reynen speaking to our group on their travels to the North Pole. They did SOOO much that it couldn’t all be included on this page! Let’s just say that they were so popular that we’ve had several requests to have them back next season.

Our group had the privilege of listening to a very interactive, interesting & heartfelt presentation by Ingrid Parker-Hill. Ingrid is employed by the Green Bay school district. She also sits on boards with great missions & has received several humanitarian/volunteer awards.
Tonight she spoke on “The Bucket List”. Everyone thinks of what they want to do before we leave this earth. Ingrid got us thinking & talking about what we have accomplished. Every member was given the chance to voice their thoughts. Ingrid had a way of pulling things out of us!
Before Ingrid left, she stressed the importance on all us about leaving behind a legacy. We had some laughs & tears. Hopefully next season we’ll be able to swoon Miss Ingrid in to coming back.
Next month is our last meeting for the 2022-2023 season. We meet at the Village Grille which is located at 801 Hoffman Rd in Allouez. Social time is at 4:30, a short business meeting at 5:00, meal at 5:15 & our speaker is on at 6:00.
Our last presentation will be given by Steve & Ruth Ann Reynen. They’ll be telling us about their trip to the North Pole. Please call Terri at 920-265-8301 if you’d like to join us.

Bobbie Stangel delivered a terrific presentation today on Easter in Oaxaca, Mexico! With her enthusiastic delivery, we were all sucked in.
We’re always learning here at People for People of Green Bay. Please come join us. We have 2 more meetings before our summer break. Please call Terri at 920-265-8301 if you’d like to learn with us.
