Here is a short video from a TTMI member. In this clip they capture a muskie on Green Bay that was previously pit tagged and demonstrate how to use/scan a fish with a pit tag reader.
When reporting a recaptured muskie to our local biologist Jason, he is looking for just a few things such as date caught, tag number, location of capture and length of fish. The location of capture will be kept private between you and Jason, but he will give you a brief summary on all other information he has for that particular fish. To report a recapture please email jason at [email protected] with these few pieces of information.
This particular muskie was tagged in August 2024 at 37.5" and when this video was taken earlier this year this fish was up to 39".
There are many pit tag scanners out there but attached in the comments is a link to the scanner we recommend for Green Bay waters. In years past they have used different styles of tags but this scanner will read any tagged fish in the system.
Titletown is also doing an incentive to help get more recaptures. For every reported recapture Jason receives, that persons name will go into a drawing at the end of the year for several bait packages from Team Rhino Outdoors.
