Nonprofit 501(c)(3) conservation organization dedicated to fisheries, research, and youth. Monthly meetings are held at 6:30 p.m. Enjoy your time on the water!

For this week of league, Mason Vanlaanen secured his spot for the league championship. Mason was able to catch this 49" musky on a tube while fishing on Green Bay. Congratulations, Mason!

For this week of league, Scott Scarpelli secured his spot for the league championship. Scott was able to catch this 46.25" musky on a bucktail while fishing on Green Bay. Congratulations, Scott!

Pit Tags and Spring Survey Update.

Spring survey

Spring netting surveys were done 4/29-5/9.
156 musky were found in the nets.
43 recaptures from previous years. Identified by pit tags.
Largest 56.2” with 5 musky over 54”

2nd survey done 5/13-5/14
60 musky were surveyed
19 recaptures from previous years
Largest 54.8”

Average size female 49.6”
Average size male 42.3”

Pit tags data as of 6/7/26

10 different anglers have reported 22 musky recaptures by pit tag reads on angling caught fish.

8 of our trained members have installed 42 new pit tags into angling caught fish.

Very cool fish story

Joel McClung and Randy Kabble caught this dinosaur of a musky with a very cool history.

This fish was given a Floy tag on 10/19/2001 at 21” male (2000 year class) Floy tags were used before pit tags.

Captured in a fyke net 4/21/2006 in the Fox River. 39.8” and a pit tag was installed.

Captured electro fishing 10/25/2010 in the Fox River. 46.6”

Angler caught 5/29/2013 reported by the Floy tag. 48”

Randy Kabble caught 5/24/2026 at 50.5”

50.5” male 26 year old musky

For this week of league, Chris VanIten secured his spot for the league championship. Chris was able to catch this chunky 47" musky on a Hunsytail while fishing on Green Bay. Congratulations, Chris!

Tomorrow, at our monthly meeting, we will be talking with our DNR biologist Jason Breeggemann. He will be sharing the results of the spring egg collection as well as the angler pit tag program and what the future of Green Bay looks like.

We also are asking members for help for our upcoming meat raffle on July 26th. This is our last meeting before then, so we are asking for people to bring in prizes for the event like beer/booze and gift baskets. Items donated will be rewarded tickets for the raffle at the end of the meeting.

Update from Wild Rose

The Muskies are swimming in the tanks and have begun feeding. They will be moved to bigger tanks indoors in a few weeks and eventually to ponds outside mid summer.

For this week of league, Dylan Laplant was able to secure his spot for the league championship. Dylan was able to catch this impressive 51"" musky on a bucktail while fishing the Green Bay opener in Peshtigo. Congratulations, Dylan!
