17 April 2026 - Tornado Watch now in effect for areas south of HWY 29 until 8pm. Storms are expected to begin in our area in the 3pm timeframe.

Keep ahead of the weather.

201 PM CDT Wed Apr 15 2026

The following message is transmitted at the request of the
Waupaca County Emergency Management.

The area of New London and to approximately 8 miles southwest
along the Wolf River is being evacuated due to dangerous flood
waters. If you are living in the impacted area, and choose to
remain in place, your safety cannot be guaranteed- YOU SHOULD EVACUATE IMMEDIATELY TO ENSURE YOUR SAFETY!

Public emergency shelter is located at:
Washington Center Gym
500 W. Washington St.
New London, WI 54961

Updates regarding the status of the emergency evacuation will be accessible by dialing 211, viewing the City of New London page or Waupaca County Sheriff's Office page.

Significant winter storm coming to the area. While the models are still making their predictions, it is clear that there will be a major storm this late Sat / Sun / into Monday.

The weather service will be interested in your snowfall measurements. Feel free to leave information here, or make your way to US National Weather Service Green Bay Wisconsin page to comment there.

When leaving your details, include location information near major intersections, such as County U and US 41 in Marinette County. They will want to find your dot on the map.

Welcome to the 2026 Severe Weather season. Looks like most of Wisconsin could see thunderstorms, with the southern part of the state possibly having a slight risk (yellow) of severe weather.

This is a good time to look at how you receive weather information, and review what you would do with you and your family in the event warnings are issued.

Concerning today, there are some flooding risks, and the possibility of stronger storms later this evening into the overnight. Check your local forecast to be sure.

9 Dec 2025 8:30pm - Models have converged, and some changes were made to the advisory / warning status this evening.

Winter Storm warnings in effect roughly between HWY 29 and HWY 10, with the eastern counties expiring at 9am.

Snow is expected to be heavy wet style, which doesn't blow and drift much, however with 30 mph winds for a while, the snow will move around.

If you would like to make snow measurements and forward them to us, feel free to do so. Time of Measurement / Location (intersection of two streets we can find on a map) and the measurement. Be sure not to measure in drifts or depressions.

12:45pm 16 Jul 2025 NWS issued a Tornado Watch for the southern half of Wisconsin, in effect until 6pm.

WX9GRB will likely activate on our radio systems to receive storm reports.

As this is typed @ 12:45pm, Weather service Milwaukee has issued several Tornado Warnings west of Madison, south of Madison, and near the Dells. Storms are moving NE towards I-39 / US 51 areas.

3:15pm CDT 15 May 2025 - NWS issues Tornado watch including most of NE / NC Wisconsin. Area below in yellow. Storms are along the Mississippi river with general storm motion to the NE at 40 mph, with the whole line moving across the state.

Several tornadoes have already occurred in MN and along the river. Storms are rapidly intensifying as they move along.

WX9GRB will likely activate by 4:30pm if not sooner.

3:30pm 14 May 2025: Severe weather expected for Wisconsin on Thursday, 15 May. Strong to Severe thunderstorms are expected, with NC / NE Wisconsin starting to feel it in the 4pm Timeframe. Events may change, but keep up with the forecast.

The projections suggest elevated risks for large hail, and since this morning, the Tornado threat has increased.

Spotters in NC / NE Wisconsin (Green Bay area) should be prepared for activation after 4pm.

28 April 2025 @ 1:15pm CDT: Storms and Severe weather still likely later this afternoon and especially this evening into the overnight. The storms that came through earlier today did their thing; more intense storms with all hazards: tornado, hail, winds, flooding, remain on the table for later today.

Weather service GRB planning an update in the 3pm timeframe. Remain updated with the weather!
