We'd like to shine a light on two amazing volunteers: Vicki Medland and Michelle Nowak. In June, these two shared their expertise to host a series of educational talks. Without them, the entire "Food For Health" project would never have gotten started. Every presentation was recorded and is now available online for anyone to watch at any time.

We celebrated a year of service by our AmeriCorp member, James Olks! You've probably read emails, seen social media posts, and watch videos created by James. He also does a lot of other work behind the scenes to ensure everything is running smoothly.

While we're celebrating the completion of his first term, we're thrilled to have James staying with us for a second term!

We'd like to give a huge thanks to everyone who attend this year's Food Sovereignty Round Table. We had an excellent morning of insightful and inspiring discussions from everyone this year.

Thanks to Off the Trail for catering, Wise Women Gathering Place for the hosting space, and thank you to our partners who led the discussion: Brown County Seed Library, University of Wisconsin-Madison Division of Extension , SLO Farmers Co-op , Valentine Gardens , and Citizens Climate Lobby.

Everyone who joined, from concerned community members to organizational leaders, had something to contribute towards raising local food sovereignty and we couldn't be more inspired.

If you love outdoor activity, this is your chance to take advantage of the beautiful summer weather and help your community at the same time.

Are mulberries invasive? Well, that depends.

Red mulberries are native to Wisconsin, but white mulberries aren't. Either way, you probably won't find mulberries in any grocery store because they have a short shelf life. So, to enjoy them, you need to either grow them yourself or forage some.

There are fresh blackcurrants ripe for the picking at the Seymour Park Food Forest ready for anyone willing to pick them. They're not quite as sweet as other berries but have a strong, sophisticated flavor and are absolutely packed full of nutrients! Head to the park and give them a try!
