We are excited to share that our CEO, Selena Darrow, has been chosen to join the 2026 Leadership Green Bay Cohort with the Greater Green Bay Chamber. She is looking forward to working with her fellow classmates who are dedicated to building a better Greater Green Bay.

Leadership Green Bay convenes a cohort of professionals together monthly to expand their understanding of the complex components influencing community and our overall quality of life.

Every eligible person who loses SNAP benefits is one more family facing unnecessary barriers to food. Food banks and charities can't fill the gap if SNAP is weakened. For every meal provided by food banks, SNAP provides nine. Protecting SNAP means protecting the nation's strongest defense against hunger.

Its SNAP Week of Action and this years theme is “From Farmers to Families: Investing in SNAP Matters.”

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) is the nation’s first line of defense against hunger, providing households with low incomes much-needed, targeted assistance to purchase food. Without SNAP, hunger in this country would be far worse. We believe this effective program should be protected.

💚 Community partners make more meals possible!

A huge thank you to Fox Cares Foundation for their generous sponsorship of the packaging for our meals!

Just a few months ago, we were preparing about 350 meals per month. In July, our first full month in the new Community Culinary Center of Excellence, we prepared more than 2,700 meals and we’re just getting started!

More meals also means a much bigger need for containers and packaging supplies to safely get those meals from our kitchen to our neighbors. Their investment means more surplus food can be recovered, transformed into nourishing meals, and shared throughout our community.

🍎 70 million tons of surplus food
💰 $380 billion in value
🥦 Nearly 1/3 of the U.S. food supply

❤️ Yet only 2.5% of surplus food is donated.

At Rooted In, we believe good food should nourish people—not go to waste.

That’s why we Recover • Transform • Share • Educate—recovering surplus food and turning it into nourishing meals and opportunities to improve health and wellbeing in our community.

There is more than enough food. The challenge is building better systems to get it where it can do the most good.
