Ralph Ziman's project, "Ghosts," is a commentary on arms trafficking from powerful, foreign nations to Africa. The photos in the series were created in collaboration with street vendors from Johannesburg, who were commissioned to create sculptures of AK-47s using traditional beading techniques. Heather Collins is an award-winning textile artist for the UK. She says about her process that "I use free machine embroidery, mainly straight stitch or zigzag, taking a few threads at a time. I intensely machine them together incorporating snippets of wool and fabric to create a new piece of cloth. I’m not too precious about my work, often cutting it up and reworking it, using a heat gun or soldering iron to distress the work to achieve the desired effect, and embellishing with hand stitch as required."

Award-winning Heather Collins is a textile artist inspired by landscapes and seascapes, especially those of her native Sussex. Here we find out why.

Wendy Kawabata's "Grow in Light" installation. There's a lot more pictures on her site.

Kawabata's an Icelandic artist whose crocheted flower installations (these things are BIG) give a visual representation to the experience of returning light in Iceland.
