I have decided to devote my life to serving the Lord and serving others that God has placed in my life. During my first two years of College, God planted me in Sydney, Australia, and now He has called me back to my hometown of Greeley, Colorado to work with Northern Colorado Youth For Christ. What have I been doing the last two years? The previous two years have been the most
amazing, challenging,
and impactful years of my entire life. About six months after I graduated from high school, I moved to Sydney, Australia. During my time there, I studied at Hillsong International Leadership College, and graduated in November of 2016 with a Diploma of Ministry. In my time there I studied leadership, theology, and team building. I also learned so much about myself, as well as what it means to live a life devoted to Jesus Christ, building His kingdom, and also serving and equipping others to spread the gospel across the globe. What’s next? I am currently raising support to work with Northern Colorado Youth For Christ. Our goal is “to reach young people everywhere, working together with the local church, and other like-minded partners to raise up lifelong followers of Jesus who lead by their godliness in lifestyle, devotion to prayer and the Word of God, passion for sharing the love of Christ and commitment to social involvement.” NCYFC.ORG
We do this through multiple ministries that we run, providing kids, teens, and young adults safe places to come hang out, learn new skills, skateboard, snowboard, build bikes, and most importantly build relation- ships with people who genuinely care for each and every one of them. For more in depth information on any of our ministries and how you can contribute, check out our website at http://www.ncyfc.org
What Will I be doing? The ministry I will be involved in most is called The Refuge. It is the only indoor skate park in the city of Greeley, allowing skateboarding to be possible year-round. The original park was called “The Farm” and opened in 2001, and has recently moved into a bigger venue just next door where more is possible. Like most people, skaters are looking for a place to belong. Our goal is to bring Jesus into the skateboarding culture, provide the kids with a welcoming, high quality park to skate at, as well as pro- vide them with a place to belong. “The Refuge is not about religion or Sunday church, it is about living out a life focused on Jesus and worshipping Him in the things that God created us to have passion for.” coloradorefuge.com
