This Saturday! April 11, 2026; 10am-12pm
First Congregational Church, Chadwick Hall, 2101 16th St., Greeley, CO 80631

Join us for a discussion and conversation on supporting Trans and Non-Binary Youth with award-winning author and journalist Nico Lang.

Nico Lang is an award-winning nonbinary journalist and author specializing in LGBTQ+ issues, particularly the lives of transgender and gender-nonconforming youth. Known for empathetic, on-the-ground reporting, they authored American Teenager (2024), documenting the experiences of trans teens across the U.S.. Lang is a GLAAD Media Award winner and frequent contributor to VICE, NBC News, and Them.

“In their powerful new book, American Teenager, Nico Lang shares the very raw, very real experiences of trans youth and their families at a moment in time when so much and so many things are conspiring against them. In doing so, Lang reminds us all of our shared humanity—and most especially, our capacity to find joy even in the hardest of times. I am grateful for this excellent reporting, which will absolutely help soften hearts, change minds, and create a lasting difference.” —Brian K. Bond, CEO, PFLAG National

A new event opportunity coming 2027 - looking for planning committee members

Theirstory is a community event that connects older (aged 30+) and younger (aged 18-30) members of the LGBTQ+ community and shares their stories out to the broader community.
This event will take place (tentatively) in the fall of 2027. Members of the LGBTQ+ community will be invited to sign up, each receiving a connection to another community member. They will tell each other their stories then create some form of art based on their partner's story. This art can be anything: physical media, dance, jewelry, poetry, a song, a short story - anything at all. The art will then be displayed at an open-to-the-public event that celebrates LGBTQ+ stories.
The plan is for this to take place in Greeley, towards the west so it can easily be a Northern Colorado collaborative effort, but we are also open to other neighboring cities. There is a ton of room for flexibility and innovation. We would like to prioritize highlighting intersectionality and history as a part of this event, on top of connecting the community and sharing LGBTQ+ stories.

We would love to have the help of individuals and representatives from local organizations to work together to make this event a success during a time where we need positive representation and connections more than ever. Your expertise and creativity can help bring joy, love, and community to Northern Colorado in a new, heartfelt way.

Committee meetings would start near the end of 2026 and ramp up at the beginning of 2027. Filling out this form is not a promise to participate but showing an interest in receiving more information. Time commitment, subcommittee set up, etc. will be planned as a team in the first meetings at the end of this year.

If you have any interest in joining the planning committee for the Theirstory event please fill out this form: https://forms.gle/wFmmZxPJ4tW99Ga56

If you are not interested in the planning committee but would like to receive other information about the event as it comes out please fill out this form: https://forms.gle/E2Y4QhwaHrPmTryv9

If you wouldn't mind sharing this with anyone you know who may be interested in participating in some way, we would greatly appreciate it!

If you have any questions or concerns please reach out to [email protected].

JEDI Greeley will be having a fundraiser on January 3, 2026 from 4 to 9 PM at First Congregational Church (this is a secular event, they just allow us to use their space) to raise funds to run our ensembles program. The fundraiser will feature performances by q***r artists or composers. A small number of other performances (spoken word, etc.) will also be accepted. This event is 18+ and adult themes are allowed.

The artist alley will be open the full events, encouraging people to drop in before/after the performances as well as during breaks. In lieu of a vendor fee we ask that artists donate 20 percent of their profits to the fundraiser. Additionally, we ask that each vendor donates an item to our silent auction. Artist Alley application Deadline is December 22, 2025.

Performances will occur from 5-8 PM. Performers are asked to prepare a 10-20 minute performance. Performers who donate their time can get a tax write off for $100 and free entry to the rest of the event. Otherwise, performers get a 50% discount off entry. 50% of funds will go to paying our performers up to 100 dollars per act. If you are interested in performing, please respond by December 15, 2025.

Who Are We?

The JEDI Advocacy Council of Greeley is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to facilitating programs, events, and resources for marginalized communities in and around Greeley, CO.

Our Initiatives Include:

Monthly programs like The League of Extraordinary Gender and The Open Hearts Club: A Q***r Non-Monogamy Community; Annual events like Greeley Pride and InQ***ries: A day of workshops; and soon, Greeley's first LGBTQ+ drop-in center.

Ensembles for All

We are proud to present the Ensembles for All program, featuring three unique groups designed to offer musical opportunities to community members who might not otherwise have access.

The TransHarmonic Choir provides a welcoming space for over 80 local individuals from the Trans, Intersex, and Gender Expansive communities to come together and express their voices.

The Orq***rstra invites the local LGBTQ+ community, regardless of their instrument or experience level, to collaborate in making music and exploring new ideas in a nurturing environment.

The Community Orchestra is a 12+ ensemble open to all instruments and skill levels, fostering a supportive atmosphere for musicians to connect and perform together.

JEDI Greeley thanks you for your support in bringing these programs to life: we couldn't do it without you.
