If you purchase individual health insurance through an exchange, much of the time, it is because a subsidy is available to you to reduce your premium. Unfortunately, there are security concerns with any type of system that requires entering your personal information. Something to consider for anyone who believes a single-payer system is the only answer for our ailing health care system mess.

As you consider your choices for elected representatives this November, understand the difference between Free Market Health Care, which the U.S. has never had and Single Payer, which we seem to be heading for.

By Elizabeth Lee Vliet, M.D. “Medicare-for-all” medicine is the ultimate goal of progressives or “liberals,” fully embraced by Democrat candidates in the midterms. Candidates claim “single-payer” government-run medicine will “solve” all the problems of Obamacare and our “broken,”...

Do you make purchases for items without knowing what the price is first? Most of us would say no. When we buy food, clothing, automobiles, homes, computers or virtually anything else, the price is known prior to the purchase. Health care should work the same way.

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services will require hospitals to post their standard charges online.

In the past, it has been the insurance companies and the regulations that have determined where, how and when we receive our health care. The landscape is changing and in the future we will make those decisions for ourselves instead of someone else deciding for us. This is Free Market Healthcare!

PeakMed Colorado is changing the way people go to the doctor. Under a direct primary care model, PeakMed bypasses insurance companies and gives patients direct access to a doctor “regardless of insurance, pre-existing conditions, age or illness,” for a fixed monthly membership fee. Also part of the…

"So now we have more evidence of more Obama IRS abuses targeting innocent Americans—all in the name of Obamacare," said Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton.

The Internal Revenue Service was involved in a $5 million push to pressure Americans to buy Obamacare coverage.

Nice job Jefferson County! I know it is only a resolution but taking a stand and expressing it counts. Full repeal, no replacement! Failure to execute our wishes should mean new leadership that will honor what we have been promised previously.

The Jefferson County Republican Party is demanding Congress immediately repeal the Affordable Care Act or, instead, to elect new congressional leadership.

Seven Republican Senators voted down a bill which would have repealed Obamacare.
If parts of Obamacare are not repealed, it will fail and guess who owns it then? Nothing less than a complete repeal Senators, if you can't accomplish that, get out of the way and let it die on it's own!

If you believe that more government intervention with health care and health insurance markets would bring premiums down, you are sadly mistaken. Repealing Obamacare without replacing it would incentivize smaller insurance companies to enter health insurance markets because they could appropriately price their products by relying on their own risk based formulas. As it stands now, the government entity known as CMS, dictates everything from when a person can purchase a health plan to severely limiting an insurance companies ability to underwrite risk. If the government is so good with risk, why is the United States of America 20 trillion dollars in debt?

Think about this if you believe a single-payer system would be so great!

Competition in the health insurance marketplace has come to a near standstill. The numerous options for plans included dropping prices, while the opposite actually happened. In many states, the options have dwindles to one or none, while more price hikes are expected. Health insurance companies had…

I have followed this terrible bill since it was first heard in the Senate Finance committee on 03/27/2017. I hope somehow it dies before tomorrow.

The original 57-page version -- that some argue is far from a single-subject bill -- is now 76 pages and includes 72 pages of strike below text. In other words, “Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Colorado” is the only thing that remains from the original version.

How many of you want another 13 member board appointed by the Governor to operate a newly formed enterprise that will control about 10% of State expenditures?

“It’s not just a bad bill. It’s a constitutionally bad bill.” Kevin Lundberg on SB17-267
