Branches in Middle Island has done so much for the community. They are in desperate need of help to keep their doors open. They have a wishlist and Venmo. Please consider helping them.
* emotional post alert*
I have always try to be transparent and honest with you, even if it makes me look like a fool.
The world is such a weird place right now and unfortunately, it’s not the kind of place that nonprofits can survive in .
If you know me, then you know asking for help is not one of my specialties so please know that me writing this post and doing this is hard for me already .
My doors are about to close, and I’m trying really hard to make sure that doesn’t happen.
There are many factors that go into decisions and we might need to close our community center because our rent is just too high.
I don’t even want to think about it because it will impact us greatly, but our overhead is astronomical.
When I started this in 2019, I never expected for us to be where we are. We are one of the most active food pantries, and community resources that I have ever seen. Most of you only know what we do on Facebook but you don’t see what we do on a daily basis And I’m not even sure I could list everything that we actually do.
If we have to to close our doors, I’m honestly terrified at what that will do to the people that rely on us.
So here I am. Begging on social media for help. I know that everyone is struggling. I know the world is scary and uncertain. But if you can help, I’m literally begging you to do just that.
This girl you see below in this picture just wanted to make a difference and I can’t imagine not being able to do that anymore.
We also need more help. Help with fundraising, help with business plans, steady consistent help. I am open to all ideas and willing to do anything so I don’t lose Branches.
I love you for being on this journey with me and I’m grateful for you everyday.
