☕The Rustler Roast at went through a beautiful remodel thanks to a Community Collaboration grant from the GFPS Foundation. Jessica Goosen, business and accounting teacher at CMR, spearheaded the process with assistance from interior design and culinary arts students and teachers.

Ms. Goosen shares that, "This project introduces a student-run coffee shop that provides real-world business experience through hands-on learning. Students will actively participate in the redesign process, applying business, finance, culinary, and interior design concepts to create a functional and professional space. By managing operations, marketing, and customer service, students will gain valuable entrepreneurial and teamwork skills."

Please enjoy the before and after, design inspiration, and in-process photos of this impactful project. These type of grants and projects are what makes learning impactful as it mirrors real world experiences.

🎁Thank you, Ms. Goosen, for your vision and leadership! And thank you to our donors for making these grants a reality!

Kodey Hansen, teacher at The Core School at Morningside, received a Learning Enhancement grant last year to teach hands-on learning on living things. Her students learned about the life cycle of 🐣chicks and were able to watch them hatch and care for them afterwards.

We love watching how teachers enhance education and how our donors make it all possible.

Taryn Brody graduated from C.M. Russell High School in 2012. She moved from Great Falls to Seattle, Washington three months after graduation in hopes to fulfill her dream of theatre.

Even though she was shy, Taryn became involved in the CMR drama department her freshman year. Although she wanted to be on stage and act, she shined doing makeup, costumes, set design and being an overall stage tech. She also took on diverse roles backstage. She involved herself with the children’s theatre and performed at the local elementary schools.

What it meant to be Taryn Brody was to have a big personality, which only blossomed with the help of the department. She would be honored if she could help someone overcome fears or insecurities through the arts, specifically drama. This scholarship is sponsored by Vineyard Church and is for an individual who shows the most growth and ability to break from their shell to be the rockstar that they are meant to be, no matter what career path they choose
