SCCA Montana Region 105

SCCA Montana Region 105 Our SCCA region covers the large cities of Great Falls, Helena, and Butte, in the Central part of the state. Feel free to ask questions!

Montana has 4 SCCA Regions; three are members of NorPac. We are the only region in the SCCA that does not charge region fees. Region 105 is Montana's oldest SCCA affiliated car club. Currently, we hold AutoCross events from April-October and hold RallyCross events from December-April. AutoCross is a closed-course where you test your ability to maneuver your vehicle around designated obstacles (con

es that are configured into gates, slaloms, and/or boxes). They take place in large, paved parking lots or on closed road-courses. RallyCross is similar to autocross in that you are still testing your ability to control your vehicle, however, it is all on (in our case) unpaved surfaces. There are many more variables as to how your vehicle will react to a surface with less traction.

**** UNOFFICIAL RESULTS (INFORMATIONAL ONLY) ****

What a great weekend of competition. We’re still waiting on the official results to be finalized, but we wanted to recognize some outstanding performances and congratulate our top drivers from the weekend.

Top 3 Overall – Raw Time (Combined)

1st – Jordan Cooke – 88.277
2nd – Loren Katzenberger – 88.312
3rd – Howard Smith – 89.585

A neat stat from the weekend: there was only 0.035 seconds separating 1st and 2nd place over the combined total of both days. That works out to roughly 36 inches of distance across the entire weekend. That’s about as close as it gets and speaks to just how competitive the field was.

1st – Joe Nommensen – 73.388
2nd – Marinne Smith – 74.222
3rd – Jordan Cooke – 74.771

We also want to give special recognition to Mike Mayer, who came in as a co-driver on Saturday and put together an incredible performance. Mike came out of nowhere and posted FTD late in the day but was just edged out by the Radical ProSport. That’s a stellar showing from someone with limited seat time who was given the opportunity to co-drive a very capable car—and he absolutely delivered.

Congrats to all the drivers, and thank you to everyone who came out and made it such a competitive and fun weekend. Official results will be shared as soon as they’re finalized.

And that’s a wrap for our two day event. Thanks to everyone who came out. We had 42 drivers and beautiful blue skies all day. Couldn’t ask for better weather. Looking forward to seeing everyone at our next event. More info to come. In the meantime here’s all of our drivers crossing the finish line!

And here they are — the long-awaited results from our three-day Memorial Day Challenge!

First, we want to thank everyone who joined us, whether you ran one day, two days, or all three. Without you, we wouldn’t be here — truly, thank you. A huge shoutout as well to Dave Vance for the killer course design all weekend.

Now onto the numbers:

Across the three days we had:
• 42 drivers on Day 1
• 35 drivers on Day 2
• 37 drivers on Day 3

Of those, 17 drivers competed all three days and were eligible for the Memorial Championship. That full list of 17 is attached to this post.

We also want to give a huge congratulations to our Top 3 Overall Raw Time finishers:
