Bikes for the World event on May 9, 2026 was a Great Falls Success.

BSA Ttoop 55, the Rotary Club and Saint Francis Episcopal Church partnered for the collection of 40 bicycles and accessories bound for Madagascar. Sewing machines will be sent to Costa Rica.

Thank you to the volunteers and donors who helped make this a success.

The Great Falls VA Rotary Club celebrated Earth Day last month by handing out 500 seedlings to kindergartners and 1st graders at Forestville Elementary, Colvin Run Elementary, and Great Falls Elementary. We are proud to partner with Bartlett Tree Experts who donated these seedlings and helped educate students on the benefits of trees in our community.

The Great Falls Rotary Club will be hosting one of Bartlett Tree Research Laboratories’ scientists, Dr. Matt Borden, who will be speaking on “Beech Leaf Disease and the Impact on the Tree Canopy of Great Falls.” Dr. Borden is a plant pathologist who has played a key role in publishing research on treatment options for this disease, which is expected to have a significant impact on the local tree canopy.

Friends of Friends of Riverbend Park is having their Annual Plant Sale! You can order online!

Riverbend is a sanctuary for wildlife and native plants, and is the only Fairfax County park that lies on the Potomac River.

We have a very special guest joining our evening meeting this week! Josh Goldberg, CEO of Boulder Crest, will come speak about his organization and receive our $5,000 boce tournament donation. Exciting!

Even if you haven't attended a meeting in a while, come on out! This will be a great one! We are at Riverbend at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday the 5th.
