Big news for Montana Carpenters: major energy and data center projects could bring long-term opportunities to our region!
KULR8 News recently highlighted the growing impact data centers can have on local communities, and we’re excited about what this could mean for our members.
The Western States Regional Council of Carpenters, through Representative Riley McCauley, has been working with Quantica Infrastructure and the Southeast Montana Building Trades Council to secure a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for upcoming energy projects and a proposed data center site in Yellowstone County.
What’s next? We will be negotiating a Project Labor Agreement (PLA) for these significant, long-term projects. A PLA helps create pathways for apprenticeship growth, expands equitable employment opportunities, and supports strong wages and benefits for workers across the region.
This is an important step toward strengthening our workforce, supporting our communities, and creating opportunities for the next generation of skilled tradespeople.
