Just wanted to put a reminder out there...if you are needing assistance you will need to meet with Takowa. Takowa is in her office Monday, Tuesday and Wednesdays. Monday is 10:30 - 5, Tuesday is 8 to 5 and Wednesday is 8 to 5. Takowa's office is located at the Central Kansas Dream Center on the west side of the building. You can reach Takowa at (620)603-1234.
Assistance can be for rent, utilities, medications, and medical needs. Each situation is different and we are here to help. We can not make full payments as we have limits on how much we can help. We try to help every case, but it is not always possible due to needs in our county. If you have questions please feel free to reach out.

Just a reminder as the weather is getting warmer, the cold weather rule will be ending. That being said you can plan ahead by applying for the Share the warmth and LIEAP. If you need help witj these applications and knowing what all information you need you can contact Takowa at (620)603-1234.

Good morning everyone. I'd like to let everyone know that Jennifer has taken another position with the Salvation Army. She will be with SSVF(Supportive Services for Veterans and Families.l). That being said there is a new Barton County Outreach Coordinator. Please welcome Takowa Pettijohn to the Salvation Army. Takowas office is also located at the Central Kansas Dream Center, 2100 Broadway. West side of the building. You go in the glass doors and down the stairs. Just as when you would come see me. Takowa will be in the office Mondays from 10am to 4 pm. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9am to 4pm. You can also reach Takowa at (620)603-1234 or [email protected]

Good morning. As Christmas approaches I want to Thank everyone who has picked an Angel from the Angel tree that was at Walmart. This year we have 215 kids on the tree. So far 125 Angels have been returned.
If you have bought for am Angel you can bring gifts to the Central KS Dream Center. My office is on the west side of the building. There's a Salvation Army sticker on the door. Come in the glade doors, down the stairs and ring the door bell. I will be here all day today. Wednesday and Friday I'll be in the office from 1 to 5pm. Today and Thursday I will be here from 9 to 4. I may have to step out but I will be back. Please feel free to call or text me before coming to drop off and I can let you know I'm here. (620)606-0900.

Friends, family, community members. I am reaching out to those that picked an angel off the tree at Walmart. Please get your gifts with their angel tag to Walmart or Jennifer at the Central Kansas Dream center. I am reaching out as we had 215 angels this year, all have been taken from the tree, but only 90 have been returned. Please help us make these kids Christmas the best!!

If you picked an Angel off the tree at Walmart in Great Bend....please return them to Jennifer at the Central KS Dream Center or Walmart service desk. If you need to arrange a drop off please call me at (620)606-0900. I hope to be back in the office next week since having surgery.

Happy Thanksgiving from all the staff at the Salvation Army in Great Bend. We are thankful for all of those who support us all year.
