I’d like to recognize my assistant, Doreen Twiss for her 40 years of service to BHRSD on the occasion of her retirement. Doreen (pictured here with her uncle, Sonny Tarnawa, another longtime employee of the District), is an exceptional person who does extraordinary work in supporting students and families, faculty and staff, the District as a whole—and me. From navigating complex policies and managing the intricate election process for our School Committee members to overseeing critical purchasing and vital job postings plus a million other things, Doreen is the steady hand guiding us all. Her deep knowledge of local history, family connections, and how it all comes together is a huge asset that we call on daily. Should you see Doreen on campus or around town this summer, please congratulate her for the impact she made over the course of her epic career and on her well-deserved retirement! Thanks, Doreen, for everything you’ve done; we will miss you!
