We do this by offering technical and business assistance, and provide flexible financing options including low-interest loans and grants, and other resources. Through our services, we lay the groundwork for building a robust, local food economy that makes fresh, healthy food ava

ilable to all. Our service area includes farmers and food makers in Berkshire County, MA; Columbia and Dutchess Counties; NY, and Litchfield County, CT.

🐂BAV recently visited with Farmer Allen Cockerline of Whipporwill Farm - an impressive grass-fed beef operation in Salisbury, CT. We loved hearing highlights from his long and storied career! Allen devoted many years to running a dairy farm, and was one of the first farmers in our region to produce 100% grass-fed beef. A mentor to many area farmers, he has seen farming trends come and go - while staying steady in his commitment to running a sustainable business. Visit his farm store on Fridays and Saturdays, or try his beef at several local establishments who serve his burgers!
