📢🎉2026 is the International Year of the Woman Farmer! We’re spotlighting a few of our awe-inspiring Berkshire area farmers and growers.

We're continuing our celebration this week by taking a look at Amara Ullauri of Ayni Herb Farm! is a Q***r, Trans and BIPOC centered herb farm, growing plant medicine on Haudenosaunee and Mohican lands in Hillsdale, NY.

Amara (they/them/elle) is an Andean q***r and trans student of seeds, pollinators and the moon. They began dreaming up the vision for Ayni back in 2017 as they leaned on plant medicine to support their wellbeing through exhausting farming seasons. They found growing herbs as a healing balm in itself, offering a different pace and awareness that felt more aligned with how they wish to move through this lifetime. Since then, they have been planting these dream seeds with various collaborations and groundbreaking lessons along the way.

Join us in showing support and appreciation for the hard work, dedication and care Amara shows in their approach to farming and land stewardship Sign up for Ayni’s Medicinal Herb CSA today!

We're continuing our celebration this week by highlighting Dale Ila Riggs of !

They a small scale, diversified, sustainable family farm that raises berries, vegetables and cut flowers in Stephentown, NY since 1996. Owned and operated by Dale Ila Riggs and her husband Don Miles, The Berry Patch is an exceptional farm due to the couple's creative ingenuity, years of experience and hard work.

Dale Ila's career in agriculture began in college at Cornell, and she has worked as an educator at Cornell Cooperative Extension for many years. Presently, she is president of the New York State Berry Growers Association, and is actively involved in agricultural initiatives in the region. Don's background is in botany, soil science and public health, and he recently turned his efforts full time to the farm, implementing successful production and delivery practices to meet growing demand.

Presently Dale Ila and Don are focused on effectively solving challenges farmers face with invasive insects. Research and testing of materials to protect crops has led to the development of a fine mesh netting that protects crops, safeguarding farmers from potential losses from crop damage. Their new company, Berry Protection Solutions, markets the netting and educates farmers on healthy options for protecting crops.

🎉🐄June is National Dairy Month, and we’re celebrating by taking a look at local dairy Berle Farm.

Since 1989, has been proving that great dairy starts with a deep respect for the Earth. 🌿 This woman-owned and -operated farm in Hoosick Falls, New York, is a masterclass in resource efficiency — from solar-powered hot water to farm-saved seeds and hand-made compost.

At the heart of it all? Their cows. 🐄 By grazing on lush pastures and farm-harvested hay, these girls turn organic plant matter into the nutritious milk used for Berle Farm’s sought-after cheese and yogurt. It’s a multi-generational cycle of healthy soil, happy cows, and delicious food.

📍 Find their products in stores across NY, VT, and MA.
