AppalachiaKY Herb & Handcraft Heritage Festival Returns September 26
Carter County, KY — The AppalachiaKY Herb & Handcraft Heritage Festival returns to Grayson on Saturday, September 26, 2026, celebrating the traditions, skills, history, and creative spirit of Appalachia.
The free, family-friendly festival will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the City Park Block in Grayson and will feature artisan vendors, herbal and plant education, traditional handcraft demonstrations, homesteading skills, historical presentations, local food, and activities for all ages.
The festival was created to celebrate and preserve the heritage of Carter County and the surrounding Appalachian region while giving local makers, growers, artists, herbalists, historians, musicians, and organizations an opportunity to share their knowledge and talents.
The celebration will continue that evening with a Dinner Variety Show from 6:00–8:00 p.m. at the historic Grahn School Community Center.
The evening will feature a variety of local talent reflecting our Appalachian heritage, along with a home-cooked country meal and an atmosphere centered on music, storytelling, laughter, fellowship, and community.
Dinner Variety Show tickets are $25 per person.
Local artists, musicians, herbalists, homesteaders, demonstrators, vendors, and community organizations are invited to participate. Businesses and civic groups are also encouraged to support the festival through sponsorships, donations, or volunteer involvement.
