Veterans Path to Hope Veterans Path to Hope is a 501(c)3 organization that transforms lives through services to veterans.

Helping veterans find stability, purpose, hope and a path forward one step at a time. Veterans Path to Hope operates New Horizons, a 20-bed transitional living shelter in Hebron, IL for homeless veterans who benefit from a more intensive period of support to reintegrate back to their own housing situation. Veterans in the program can access a variety of supports such as employment assistance, reco

very support, transportation to work, reconnecting with family, and daily living skills as needed. In Crystal Lake and Grayslake, veterans and families are welcomed to call or stop in at the drop-in resource center, staffed by veteran peer support specialists. The peer support group is there to assist veterans in need, whether the need is for support, information, referrals, or the relief of having coffee with someone who speaks the same language. The drop-in center includes a food pantry for veterans, monthly food truck, and counseling support. The agency also offers veteran-specific employment assistance, helping with resume translation, getting prepared for employment, and finding/keeping employment.

From Counseling Veterans to the Big Screen! 🎬
We have some pretty exciting news to share about our very own Sean Merchant, our counselor here at Veterans Path to Hope!

Sean is going to be on the big screen! 🤩
Almost two years ago, Sean volunteered as an extra while Beyond Belief was filming in Woodstock. He originally thought he was signing up to be part of a movie about running, but quickly discovered there was a much deeper story behind the film—one centered around loss, faith, hope, commitment, and perseverance.

And yes… you can actually spot Sean in the movie! 👀 He appears in three scenes near the end of the film, including one where he's rocking a red, white and blue headband and a sweet Marty McFly vest.

Beyond Belief is set in the 1980s and follows a teenage rocker whose journey through running, loss, and faith leads him toward a greater understanding of his purpose. The film also features music from Christian rock legends Petra.

The movie hits theaters August 28th, and Sean's family, friends, and all of us here at VPH couldn't be more excited to see him up on that big screen!

So, if you're heading out to see Beyond Belief, keep your eyes peeled for “Waldo-Sean!” 😂

We are incredibly grateful to Bank of America for their generous grant award in support of the Veterans Path to Hope Employment Program in Chicago! ❤️

This funding helps us continue providing local veterans with employment services, resources, and connections to basic needs as they work toward greater stability and independence.

For many veterans, finding meaningful employment is an important step toward building a strong foundation—but getting there can come with challenges. Our Employment Program helps veterans navigate those challenges by connecting them with opportunities, supportive services, and resources that can help them move forward.
