💡 4-H IDEA LAB — THINK IT. BUILD IT. PITCH IT!💡
Ages 14–18 | 5-Week 4-H Club

What if your idea could become something real? 🚀

Join us for a fun, hands-on 5-week 4-H experience where teens will take an idea from their imagination and turn it into a professional digital project!

Throughout the club, youth will:

💡 Develop their BIG idea
🎯 Identify a problem and their customer
💰 Explore pricing, costs & profit
🎨 Create a brand and advertisement
💻 Use Canva, PowerPoint or Google Slides
📱 Learn how to present their ideas professionally
🎤 Build and present their final idea

📍 Location: Devereux Memorial Library in Grayling
🕞 Time: Thursdays, 3:30–4:30 PM

💻 WHAT TO BRING:
Youth should bring their Chromebook or laptop each week. No special supplies or previous business experience are required!

📚🌳 The Grayling Story Walk has a NEW BOOK for September!

Our Story Walk throughout Grayling City Park and downtown Grayling has a brand-new story for September! 🎉 Every month, we’ve been putting up a new book for local youth and families to enjoy while they explore, play, and spend time together in our community.

📖 September’s book is now up and ready to be read!

We’ll have one more new book coming in October, and then the Story Walk will stay up until the snow flies! ❄️

So the next time you’re at the park, go find the Story Walk, read the book, and have some fun! ❤️

Crawford County 4-H Brick Builders Club is a fun, hands-on LEGO building club where youth will take on building challenges, explore their creativity, practice problem-solving, and have fun with friends — one brick at a time! 🧱💚💙❤️💛

Applications are now open for the Michigan 4-H State Youth Leadership Council (SYLC), Michigan 4-H's highest youth leadership opportunity for young people ages 15-19!
As a SYLC member, you'll represent Michigan 4-H across the state, promote 4-H through local and statewide activities, and help shape the future of 4-H programs by sharing youth perspectives and ideas.

🧵✨ Sew It Seams 4-H Club is coming this fall! ✨🧵

Does your youth love to create, sew, learn new skills, or work with their hands? This is a great opportunity to learn the basics of sewing in a fun, hands-on 4-H club! 🪡🧵

Sew It Seams is open to youth ages 10 years old ( as of Jan.1 2026) and older and will meet at Becky’s Sewing Shop in Houghton Lake.

📅 Thursdays:
September 24
October 8
October 22
November 5
November 19

⏰ 3:30–5:00 p.m.

Youth will have the opportunity to learn, create, and build their sewing skills while working alongside others in a supportive environment.

🌟 Registration is through Crawford County 4-H Online.
Only 10 youth are able to take part in this club, and spaces will go fast, remember sign up starts on Sept. 3, 2026.

🎯🍂 CRAWFORD COUNTY 4-H IS LOOKING FOR SHOOTING SPORTS VOLUNTEERS!🍂🎯

Do you have a passion for shooting sports, archery, hunting, wildlife, or outdoor education? Would you enjoy sharing that passion with youth through 4-H?

Crawford County 4-H is exploring the possibility of developing 4-H Shooting Sports clubs right here in our community, but we need adult volunteers willing to become trained instructors before we can get these opportunities started.

The Michigan 4-H Shooting Sports program offers instructor certification in several disciplines:

🏹 Archery
🎯 Shotgun
🎯 Rifle
🎯 Pistol
🦌 Hunting & Wildlife
🎯 Muzzle Loader

💚 WE NEED ADULTS WHO ARE INTERESTED IN BECOMING VOLUNTEERS!

There is an upcoming Fall 2026 4-H Shooting Sports Instructor Workshop on:

📍 Huron Pointe Sportsmen's Association

This training provides instructor certification in the different 4-H Shooting Sports disciplines.

You do not need to commit to a club today. Right now, I am simply trying to find adults in Crawford County who may be interested in becoming trained 4-H Shooting Sports volunteers so we can see what opportunities we may be able to offer our youth in the future.

If you have experience in one of these areas—or simply have an interest in learning more about becoming a certified 4-H volunteer—I would love to hear from you!

🌲 CRAWFORD COUNTY 4-H IS AT FOREST FEST TODAY! 🌲

We’re out at Hartwick Pines State Park for Forest Fest today from 10 AM–4 PM! Come on out and spend the day learning, exploring, and having some fun in the great outdoors! 🦋🌳

There are SO many things to discover at the Logging Museum! You can:

🌲 Learn about Michigan’s forests and trees
🪵 Learn about the CCC boys and their history
🌿 Explore and learn about the outdoors
🥾 Take a short nature walk
🔎 Pick up a scavenger hunt book at the Event Center
🎨 Get temporary tattoos
📚 Visit multiple vendors at the Logging Museum
🧠 Learn a new outdoor skill at each station
🎟️ Collect stamps as you complete the activities

This is a great event for kids and families who love nature, history, hands-on learning, and being outside! 🌲❤️

🎨🔬 Can You Give Just ONE Hour a Week? 🔬🎨

Last year, our Crawford County 4-H After-School Art Club and After-School Science Club were an incredible success! More than 60 youth wanted to participate, but we only had room for 18 students.

This year, our amazing volunteers have stepped into new teaching roles, and while we're so excited for them, it means we need new volunteers to help keep these clubs going.

💚 We're looking for:
⭐ 2 Gold Volunteers for Art Club
⭐ 2 Gold Volunteers for Science Club

(It can be the same two volunteers leading both clubs or four different volunteers.)

The Commitment is Simple:

✅ Just 1 hour each week
✅ 6-week session
✅ Approximately 6 volunteer hours total

That's it!

No need to create lessons—we've already done the work for you!

✔️ 4-H provides ALL supplies
✔️ 4-H provides the curriculum
✔️ Step-by-step lesson plans
✔️ PowerPoint presentations ready to use
✔️ Ongoing support from Shay

You simply guide the youth through fun, hands-on activities while helping them build confidence, creativity, and friendships.

Clubs can be held after school at Grayling Elementary School or the Devereaux Memorial Library, and a few other places. Shay help coordinate the location and schedule with volunteers.

We would love to offer both a Fall and Spring session, but we need caring adults willing to invest just a few hours to make it happen.
