For 107 of our 150 years, the Rialto has kept us entertained!
In this time of historic inflation, let it be said that our prices have actually been reduced.
We have LOWER PRICES because a trip to the movie theater is supposed to be one of life's simple pleasures, something you can enjoy frequently throughout the year. Not something to save up for or that you have to worry about.
The cost of most of our inputs has not increased, and even if they had, it is the business's job to provide something of value to as many customers as possible at a price ordinary people can afford. That used to be the philosophy of all movie theaters, which is why they were successful even during times like the Great Depression.
We are thankful for the support of the community during historically unprecedented times. We operate with equipment that was DONATED by the efforts of hundreds of local people, which was paid back through movie tickets, not high-interest loans. We were given assistance by the government to make it through the pandemic. It is not right to accept assistance, then make excuses to raise prices. Our goal is to have as many happy customers as possible, for as many years as possible. That is why the theater has been open for 107 years.
A couple can come to this theater for date night and get two tickets and large popcorn and pop for less than $20. If they come to a bargain showtime, it's even less than $15.
A family of four -- two parents and two children under 12 -- can come to this theater with popcorn and pop for all, and spend less than $35. Or less than $30 at a bargain showtime.
All of these prices get even lower if you buy a refillable popcorn bucket and become a Rialto regular! You pay $18.99 plus tax for your bucket, then just $1.89 to fill it up every time you come to the movie for a whole year. Plus everyone in your party gets a 32-oz pop with free refills for just $2!
Movie theaters are successful when they work hard to be an affordable option -- and that's what this theater wants to be!
Thanks for reading -- we'll see you at the show!
P.S. Not sure when this photo was taken, but this is the kind of crowd we like to see!
