These are the meds for Karma, Oliver and Gucci. I started ordering 2 months at a time so I can always be a month ahead and not run out of anyone's medicine.

Karma is at the vet and things are not good. BUT she has a chance of making a full recovery and we want to give her that option! She does have a tumor on her spleen that is bleeding, she has a bowel obstruction and that all needs to be removed. We can do surgery that will cost us anywhere from $2000 to $3500 depending on how bad things are once they get in.
PLEASE DONATE IF YOU CAN! Euthanizing a dog because we don't have funds to treat is NOT something I take likely.

If you've ever wanted to help Karma before, now is the time... she is coughing up blood and will be at the vet first thing in the morning.
She's been with us over a year now and we've been actively involved in her care while her owner has tried so hard to relocate after moving here and his landlord here will not allow "pitbulls".

First, I want to thank you all for the donations and the stuff I've received so far for the pups! Yall are amazing!
I'm ordering the month of meds for the dogs. These meds are for 3 of the digs that are here. They are taken 3 times daily. The acepromazine is for the 3 dogs that need it twice daily, and as needed for the others.
I'm short about $135 to place the order. If anyone wants to help with this, it would be so much appreciated.

Tonight I was able to sit and spend some one on one time with Sneaky Pete. Pete came to me 3 years ago from the Terrebonne Shelter. He was part of a cruelty case where several chihuahua and terrier mixes were living in a hoarding situation. He and his brother Edward, were the worst of the bunch, as they were not socialized and barely received any human interaction their entire lives.
Pete's brother Edward has since been fully rehabbed and adopted, Yay!
Unfortunately, Petie is just not there yet and likely will never be. He does not trust people and is semi-feral.
Even though the title of "semi-feral" has found its way in Pete's profile, we love him and he absolutely loves us and loves it here. He has become a sanctuary dog. As long as he is happy, healthy and thriving, he will stay with us. He has completely bonded with Angel and the two are inseparable. He plays, comes for affection when he is ready for it and loves his life here.
I am the only one that can touch him, pick him up, examine him, give him vaccinations, clip his nails, whatever he needs done.
He completely trusts me.
We love you Sneaky Pete! 😍 And I am so thankful we were able to save you!

Today's situation in Lafourche Parish was completely devastating for the family who watched their pet get shot and die, for the public that witnessed it and was potentially put in danger as well, and for the officer involved who likely lacked proper training to handle that situation. (I am NOT sharing the video as it was heart shattering to watch).
Let's see the officer's body cam video before we tear the city down.
While I do not agree with the outcome of the situation, there is one thing I know... I know that Lafourche Parish, as a whole, lacks a proper animal control for their Parish. Their Law Enforcement handles animal control complaints and they don't receive the training they need to handle a true animal control emergency. This kind of training for the ENTIRE department and every officer is not feasible with their current budget.
But what if, YOU the people of Lafourche, rally your council and Parish leaders for an actual Animal Control Department? Actual Animal Control Officers, and people who can be allocated granted training and resources for these positions?
Your Parish is considered "rural". That doesn't mean "country". That means compared to rest of the United States, your Parish is inadequate when it comes to Animal, Rabies, abuse and neglect Control.
Only the residents of Lafourche parish can make this change by making noise to your council and Parish leaders.
Your current Animal Shelter has made so many good changes, but have been held back by your leaders.
TAKE A STAND!

Until the entire body cam footage is released (if it ever is) can we actually learn fully from this. Training, prevention, scene control, etc. I urge TPD to use this for change rather than throw it away and pretend it did not happen.

I do not support having to shoot this dog, but I have no other public opinion to make without all facts.

People need to rise up and change Lafourche. You've been the underdog for too long. Show them you demand better!

In rescue we commit ourselves to the ones we take in. The moment we accept an animal in, our hearts are completely obligated for their entire lives. Some of them live the rest of their lives with us. And when we have to let them go on to their enternal rest, our hearts shatter. Our soul shakes. Our whole world stops for a moment.
Today, I'm shattered. After being with me for 3 years and 3 months, I had to release Camo from this world. I had to end his suffering and follow through on my commitment to give him the best and always make the best decisions for him.
Camo lived the first 6 years of his life in a filthy kennel with barely a shelter, a chewed up dog house and a cement floor soaked in urine and f***s. He and nearly 200 other dogs suffered there for years in a hoarding situation beyond belief.
We took him on and he never left. He learned what love was, what playtime was, he made friends and lived the good life here. He did not suffer. He always had fresh water, fresh food, a clean kennel and a soft bed (even though he would destroy it). And loads of toys! Oh did he love his toys 🧸
This morning, I said my goodbyes to my good boy Camo. I told him how wonderful he was to have and that his fight was over. It was time for him to be free from this world. I held him, rubbed his head and kissed his forehead as I let him go.
He had a severe case of IVDD with a possible cancerous lesion on his spine causing paralysis of his left side. He was approximately 9 years old.
I'm hurt, I'm angry, I'm devastated. There is a void in my heart that I'm not sure can be healed. Rescue has broken me. This hurts bad.
Please leave me to my peace this weekend and understand if I don't respond. I need time.
